I will put it back on tomorrow greg but I dont really like putting his name on the web, you know what I mean.
No I havent played along with him, my niece goes round there sometimes, she is a very fine musician, I am very proud of her, better than anyone I have heard, and plays lots of instruments to advanced level, she studied some at university but unfortunately violin isnt one of them, which is just my luck, lol, my sister who recently passed on last month, was also a vèry very good musician.
I am the worst of the lot
I think its the Irishness in us, we are all of very recent Descent from Dublin and Downpatrick, lots of our family are still there.
Not that that means much.;)

@stringy
Him singing Your cheatin heart was outstanding! He is a great muscian..you should reach out and go spend some music time with him! Seriously..!
no worries about the other video ...I totally get it.
as far as being born into music..if you grew up with everyone playing instruments and singing in the house that would help for sure because you heard it, especially early on. It sounds like you did.. especially you mentioning your sister.
but MAINLY..
I think its all the years of practice and hard work put in to sound good that makes someone good. I mean if you were surrounded by the music and paid attentention to it growing up it sure couldnt hurt being that close to the source though. Not sure that just being born in an area steeped in trad music matters as you said. sure doesnt hurt though
But..being RIGHT there close to where all this stuff comes from has got to be cool if youre trying to learn it. I think you surely have many resources to help there. Its difficult though..and can get expensive. I cant go all the time.. at the moment im lucky if once a month. group classes help though.. but one on one private lessons are hard to book on a regular basis.
sorry.. pulled out the ol soapbox ..☺️. just ramblings believed as truth...lol. all free at that.
Thanks all for watching and listening, my uncle is a great feller, very funny, he now lovss music more than anything else, well I should say he likes performing more than anything else.
John he simply doesnt care anymore, what people think or anything, he has no nerves and I think that shows clearly, he loves dòing it.
Emily yes I am ok my missus was a bit rough but to be honest apart from losing my sense of smell, I didnt really have any symptoms at all, still not got my sense of smell back, eferything tastws like cardboard.
greg you are absolutely on the money, practice is what makes you good, thats the key. If I had started fiddle when I was a kid, and practiced 3 or 4 hours a day I would have been a soloist years ago, trouble is it takes a lot of dedication and life gets in the way, besides that when I took up the guitar donkeys years ago it was because girls like guitarists, they still do lol
