It'll be great when the video is actually up.

PKY, when I was going to load my Bach Chaconne video it was almost 4 Gigs. I gave up after 10% and opened it with "MPEG Streamclip", which I believe is a free application. I then saved it as a MP4 and the size was around 300 megs and I still kept 256 Kbps stereo sound. You can find the program here.

We look forward to your post. smile

Thanks for the advice. I don't like to upload it to youtube because I don't want people to see me, I wanted to post a "headless" one, but my husband said this one is better. LOL

I recorded some on Aug 21 before I changed my cecilio steel strings to Dominant strings, but decided not to post them. I did a few more today. Boy, it's tough with a five-year old, she wanted to be involved, too. She wanted to see it, and wanted the attention by singing, playing on piano, screaming in the background etc. One of my video had her screaming at the top of her lungs so I would take her over to our neighbour's house to celebrate her dad's bd. LOL

I've been using Real Player.  User-friendly, can crop and convert, but I haven't worked out how to downsize.  I'm not particularly computer literate.

This time i thought it finished upload because it said 100% progress -- careless me, it should be 100% completed! I did something and it was gone!

What is real player? i think I had that in the past, but my hubby got rid of that. I have quick time movie I think. I used to have mvm or something like that.

It's 30% now, I am going to bed, unless it is done before I fall asleep.

Real player is another free download.  I got it originally because it has YouTube downloader attached, and I have such poor internet speed that it's easier for me to download and watch later.  I'm sure there are many other programs to use, and someone will post here to let us know the easiest way to do it.

pky that was the same error message I got when I tried to upload a Quicktime .mov file. You can just use Youtube and set it for private so all the internet people can't see it. Or just download Mpeg Streamclip and save as an MP4. Fiddlerman put the link up above.

One thing we should remember is when we post a video directly to this site, it is stored on Fiddlerman's server. This will eat up space rather rapidly, I don't know how much space he is allowed. I do know it is not free. Youtube on the other hand is free, you can make the videos private, and you just need a hyperlink to it.

OK, I clicked on your link and a black box appeared with no video. I right clicked and selected open in new tab, and I guess your video is private alright, so private I can't see it. lol I will see if I can contact you through Youtube and become your "friend"dancing

No luck, I can't even find your user name on youtube. I guess they take privacy pretty serious!

I am sure we will figure something out!

Hey PKY,

Great finally seeing you play the violin.

Lot's of great things. Nice steady bow for a beginner. You have a feeling for producing a careful sound and I didn't hear the bow bounce as you have discussed in some posts.

Besides the intonation I want you to work on not using your right shoulder when you bow. Check your video and you will see what I mean. Practice this in front of a mirror. cool Listen to this recording a few times with the music in front of you and draw and arrow up or down indicating that you need to move the finger higher or lower. Practice the marked part while concentrating on intonation and try recording again, if not for us for yourself to see the difference.

Congratulations on taking the big step of sharing your progress. I loved it. cheerleader

I also loved it !!!

PKY you're fantastic, I only got about 20 seconds before my connection died, but I was smiling all through because you've been so brave and were so worried about it.  Well, it's done now, and everyone will love it.

CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!
