Nicely done, Lyle, very nice and you will get better. And the new violin sounds terrific.

Congratulations.

Great stuff - it sounds good!   ( Just one word of advice - do not rush into naming your instrument - in the fullness of time, it will simply let you know....  j/k ! )

(Still jealous!  In a nice way of course !)   Enjoy your new instrument !

I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh - guntohead.JPG

Please make your own, different mistakes, and help us all learn :-)

Great stuff @LyleA. Everybody wishes they were better. You know for sure you won't be held back by your fiddle though. Congratulations again on the new instrument. Keep those videos coming.

Thank you everybody!

You never realize how long your beard is, until you see it in a video or a picture.  Good Lord...

Never mind maneuvers, just go straight at them.

Thanks @RockingLR33 and @augustoad.  Even in the few short days I have had it, it has already started to open up quite a bit and sounds even better than when I unboxed it!

Never mind maneuvers, just go straight at them.

isn't that crazy how that works? I know i bought the Borree 750es and it sounded amazing when i got it and i swear the tone keeps getting better. The fact that the wood adapts and changes and becomes even richer is part of what inspires me to keep practicing! i can't wait to look back on the videos i have and listen to the difference as my violin opened up :D and me of course! someday hopefully my skills will be good enough to really make my violin sing!

Nicely done Lyle!!  Hilary Hahn once said that she loves Bach pieces because it keeps you honest--no way to B.S. it.  I also love that Bach has music for all--beginner, intermediate, advancing, and professional.  Keep at it! :)
