In a recent answer to one of my posts @Crazymotive said, "But when i examine my progression in terms of months or a year there is definite improvement,  in terms of sound quality, technique, capabilities and skill."

So I decided to look back at some of my videos, and yes, the improvements are noticable. I chose one from Jan this year and recorded it again today and compared them.

Your thoughts would be great

Recorded on 2 different video cameras so vision and sound could be different.

I notice the improvement, John. Second one is more in time and in tune, flowing together, but, I've always wondered. What is a "Sky Boat", they don't sell them at the marina's. The only sky boat I ever owned was a 'Cessna 172'.

clap Good going.

@fiddlestix Ken

The Isle of Skye is is the largest and most northerly large island in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland. The song is about taking the rightful king to Skye (in a boat, not a Cessna) to escape his enemies

I was learning in a 150 aerobat years back:)

Yeah > your sound is SOoooo much smoother, etc. Sounds nice Ferret. I'm going into my 11th month here soon. I am having So much fun with it. But~~~~~ I sound like your first vid. I hope to get as smooth as you are now in time. I haven't put anything out there in some time but will be very soon with the Traveler.

Okay. The new version shows a marked improvement. It is much softer, smoother, cleaner and really evokes feeling and emotion in the listener, as music is supposed to do. It really brings out the beauty of the music. You're tone, intonation, bowing technique, dynamics, etc. are much better. you are sounding great. Keep up the great work. Sounds fantastic.

Big difference. Dispite the added reverb it was obvious that your feel and technique is much better now than it was then.
Smoother bow changes, the bouncing bow is gone, more dynamics and better intonation. :-)
Good job John.
It's really great to have those videos to go back to and compare isn't it?....

@Fiddlerman Pierre

Yeah, about the reverb. I had 2 versions of the recording (mucking around with the software) and uploaded the wrong one. I mean't replace it and got side tracked. But the difference was still demonstrated.

Yes it's good to have the older videos. But if you go back too far it can make you cringe :)

Wow John... so good. I have got to watch you play for a while now and I am SO impressed... practice and time pays off.

Thanks for the explanation on the Skye Boat song too. Hebrides have always been a fascination for me.

@StoneDog Rick

Thanks for that mate

Most definately yes. We have to hear something from you on 'TheTraveler'. I wish that I could get my hands on it but being here in Australia, it's not likely to happen. Darn.
