BaldBeardedViolinist's very first performance.
I'll be using this for a reference for when I improve.
I got the violin a couple days ago, and so far I'm pretty much guessing on the finger placement. I haven't compared the tone of any of the notes yet.
My first official lesson will be this Sunday, after my daughter's lesson.

Enjoy! (and cover your pets' ears)

Thanks.
Right now, we share the same one. I will most likely be getting my own eventually, and also a viola.
Since our lessons are one-on-one, and I don't have the money for another one yet, this will have to work for now.
We can sit in on each other's lessons, but each lesson has to be separate, and they are going to try to schedule our lessons back to back.
Good idea though. I will definitely be making videos of the two of us in the future. The ultimate goal is to be able to play stuff together.

well that's what got me back into playing after an almost 40 year hiatus. My daughter has moved on to Cello, no Piano, no wait, Flute.. Ooops no It's guitar. Yup Guitar and Ukulele, but I stuck with the Viola.
Great job for the first time on the strings after so many years. 15
Yea, I'm waiting to see if/when my daughter won't want to continue with the violin. She's really into it now, but I know that can change. I just don't want to let her give up too soon, but also don't want to keep pushing her to do something she'll end up not enjoying.
I'd like to keep her into at least some instrument, for the overall benefits from helping with math (which helps with everything in life, despite what 98% of highschool students believe) to having another opportunity to socialize, among other benefits.
I'm hoping she stays with it, but I don't want to push my wants on her if it ends up being something she's just not into.

That's great. You're a natural. Keep the videos coming as you move along. Nice table, btw.
hehe, thanks. It's funny, my wife said "ooo, our table looks good at that angle" when she saw the video. lol
I just had my phone propped up with boxes and a book.
I'm thinking of getting a GoPro in the future, for anything from putting videos on youtube to recording hiking trips, etc.
The smartphone just isn't cutting it, but it'll do for now.

You may find that the tune "Love me Tender" is a good piece to help with finger placement.
Sweet, thanks! I just looked it up, and I like that it's a slower song to practice with.
