Hi folks, I leave you with the short video on vibrato practice. I used a tune we all know which is Ashokan Farewell. Actually they are bits of the tune because I was playing by heart lol. Anyways I tried to angle my violin so that yuo guys can see my hand while vibrating and so i can get some tips on how to keep on working on it. I know that towards the end I got a little flat. Sorry about that, I just realized right after I played it lol. Hope you guys enjoy it.

Thank you Pierre. As you know I do not have that much time to dedicate to violin playing. However, I try to practice intelligently and make the most out of each practice. What will I do next? Well I have to get my spiccato going but I don't have the feel neither on the bow nor in my hand yet to do it. Thanks for the support bro, makes me wanna keep on trying even when I feel I'm sounding my worst.

Sounds great Juan. I am hoping for a little vibrato action this year. I feel it.. I really do. Love you Ashokan. You know there is a little thread on here ... Where we are posting our versions of Ashokan... :). Just saying... Good job... The sky really is the limit. I love that for you! Thanks for sharing!
Vibrato Desperato.... Desperately seeking vibrato

@coolpinkone thank you so much Toni. I've been working on vibrato a lot. It doesn't come easy at all but when you least expect it, your hand begins to do the motion of the vibrato. It requires time and perseverance. Take it from me, I get really impatient lol.
@Fiddlestix thanks Ken, I appreciate your words. I guess it might have something to do with me reaching my 30s LOL.

Juan.. whatever it is.. I hope it happens to me. I spent time trying vibrato over the years. When it finally sunk in that I had to have a relaxed left hand, I began working on that mostly. I still grip.. certain times worse than others... sometimes it is an old song that I learned when I had the bad bad grip... so old habits die hard... or when I am playing from sheet a new song.
Lately I am learning a bit more about my posture.. things I should have learned more diligently... and my palm facing the fingerboard more... and loose thumb... just a lot of things. Fingers crossed that diligence and some tips and advice I am applying will pay off.
I kind of bang my head on the wall when I think of all the practice .. practicing the wrong way... BUT Let's keep it positive.. .THE bowing
is a bit better.. intonation a bit better.. ears are a bit better..
It's all good. I am glad you posted here on the forum. Nice to see you here... you old coot!! LOL

Very awesome. I love the last note hanging there in a fading vibrato. I am just now to the point of realizing that you need to keep the left hand loose. I can start to hear a warble now that doesn't sound painful, but its just starting. I am happy that I can tell the difference in the arm and wrist flexibility. I hope in another few months it starts to sound even in the ball park of what you demonstrated.
Thanks for that video.
