well as always..take that as a.. maybe .. in notion, my sheet music software...you can assign accents to notes so the playback sounds louder and stuff. I think I used that symbol so that say beat 1 sounded a bit louder than 3 which had a normal accent mark. 2 and 4 nothing...or maybe i did 2 strong and 4 normal with 1 & 3 nothing..anyway..i played with those articulations to make midi sound more realistic.
. this sheet music looks overly complicated.. probably because they tried to notate all the ornaments.

The book I took this from was printed in 1900as far as I know. tried to get the image a bit larger but couldnt unfortunately.
I was telling emily about this book picked it up for less than a pound in a second hNd bookshop its kerrs of Edinburgh. It has Scots Irish jigs reels, waltzes polkas and all kinds in there, the goodthingis because the book is so old most of the tunes s will be more or less original and unchanged by time and playing.
Cant beat a sunny day

What is it?
Maybe less or more emphasis at just the end of playing that bow stroke?
...a gradual swell or decline on just 1 note?
