No, no, and thrice NO !!! ( LOL you gotta be a Brit to get that line! ) - but seriously - it is NEVER too late to join in, or post to a member's own project thread - they never end, and often, after many months, if not years, get re-incarnated as and when someone has something new to post - it's all good !

Take your time, and bring it on !

I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh - guntohead.JPG

Sweet, you got it - LOL !   Absolutely - the forum is full of stuff - I've only been here slightly over a year and I STILL have stuff to find in spite of being online most every day.

All "Members own projects" are exactly that - add whatever you want, any time you want.   Or indeed, just launch your own - it can be as "basic as you like" - like - I'm wanting to work on / learn "xyz" - here's what I have - any help, comments, etc out there welcomed -     etc...

And - if I have missed welcoming you aboard, then WELCOME !!!!  There is no better place to learn and to share your learning experiences...

Hello! June has just disappeared! I've had to stop playing a couple of weeks ago as I skint my fingertips of my left hand on a sanding belt, which stung a bit, and most of my time has been spent setting up my studio and getting funding sorted.

So this week I got back into playing and finally found time to record my (not so good) playing! It needs a lot of work so earplugs at the ready. haha. amuse

Excellent work! Well done. As you continue to play that tune, you will get the timing beter and better. Get a youtube vid to play along with and you'll get there quicker. Kinda like jamming with another fiddler.

I did that when I learned it and I still find myself going astray on the timing unless I listen to Jay play it as he wrote it. LoL

All about the independent musician thing I guess, we always try to change it a little to suit ourselves... I do it all the time and have to force myself to go back and duplicate the original timing and intonation.

You really rocked that thing! Awesome.cheers

Well done @SilverHalide !  Thanks for sharing !

Tell me - do my ears deceive me or, do I hear "seagulls" or something similar in the background just around the 48 through 52 second mark - or am I just going slowly insane (oh, too late, I've already lost it... LOL).

@cdennyb thanks! Internal time is something I struggle with so thanks for pointing it out. :)

I've been playing AF again, mucking about with double stops/chords as my theory is awful. It's still a bit rushed and there are some intonation issues, but it is sounding a little better. :)

Don't know if that link will work, having to use my phone as my laptop charger blew up.

Thanks guys. :)

Trills are fun!

Ripton - the last two lines are quite tricky, specially the C nature and C# (?) on the G at the end. Still haven't figured out how to make that last measure sound good haha

I'd love to see more posts come in on this wonderful song.  Anyone up to play their version again... or anyone new that missed this fun party... Join in and post again.

I am tempted to play it along to share on my Ming Violin.

Cheers to all.

@SilverHalide

That was great.  Loved the double stops.  Cool that you are working on them.  I think I play ONE double stop in that song.

Nice to hear you are working on the tune again and posting!  Yahoo.
