Thanks guys
The more the merrier as they say. Grab the music that Robert posted or do something different.
Thanks @RosinedUp for fixing my link. It been a problem that I've been having since the site was moved to the new server
@coolpinkone Toni. You should be able to view my video thanks to RU
And I'm sorry for referring to you as 'Diane' earlier.
Seen it all. Done it all. Can't remember most of ..... What was I saying????

Well I've only been playing a couple of weeks but here's my best effort All feedback is very welcome. Not sure if I hold the bow and instrument correctly, and I know my intonation's off here and there (and tempo). I also have this bow-control issue I'm working on where it will bounce a bit sometimes. Maybe I need to use my index finger to push down more and stabilize.
I didn't grab the sheet music, but grabbed the key from Ferret's post. I'm playing an unplugged eviolin. Going to buy a micro Marshall amp soon.
My post is an unlisted youtube. I want to keep it just to this forum group (and my sister)
Happy New Year!

Great job Michelle,Hard to believe you've only been playing for 2 weeks.
An electric violin is harder to hold because there is no solid back. You might feel more comfortable with a thin rubber pad to keep the feeling of the violin sliding downwards from getting you to squeeze. However you look relaxed enough.
Your hold looks good with both your violin and bow though the next step will be to work on finger flexibility. You bow seems to be tightened a bit too much. Try tightening only to about a pencil width wide or less at the narrowest point.
Your right hand fingers are hard to see on this video but your pinky doesn't look relaxed. Giving you a bit more than usual because you are obviously working hard from the start and I want you on a good path.![]()
Welcome to the forum BTW.
We would love an introduction on the introduce yourself forum.
Thank you so much for all of this feedback Pierre! Very, very appreciated! I'll take note and also I'll try to show my left hand in the next vid I'll post for more feedback on that.

@Michelle: that was fantastic. Your intonation was excellent for only two weeks along.
I also noticed that your bow is a bit tight. As Pierre said, about the width of a pencil. Loosening the bow will also help with your bounce, but the bounce will go away eventually.
After a few month's of playing, things will begin to happen and you'll be delighted.
Great job.

@Michelle: you are really talented!! I think your left hand is going to be really great!
I think it is right that your bow might be too hard. It makes a lot!! If you press it to the strings you should be able to get the hair to the stick quite softly (not too much). But the pencil doesn't help with all the bows.
I play both electric and wooden violin and I must tell you that you really should buy a wooden one. You will hear the intonation better, including the side tones that are generated (aliquotes), you will make a specific and beautiful tone and you will have the right reverberation too. I play the electric one only not to disturb my baby when he is sleeping. Otherwise my tone is going worse. But watch out, playing a wooden violin is more difficult.
I think you can be a fantastic violinist. Practise a lot and listen to music. Cross fingers!

Nice job, John @Ferret and Michelle @Shell !
Great idea for a party, John. I plan to join in...planning to record my rendition of Auld Lang Syne tomorrow and hopefully post it tomorrow night if all goes well.
BTW, I tried to think of another song associated with New Year's Eve, but couldn't come up with anything. I'll be interested to see if anyone else does.
I'm also curious whether other countries have their own New Year's songs, other than ALS. I take it that ALS the New Year's song in Australia, too.
I've decided to play Louis Armstrongs' "What a wonderful world" in addition to ALS for my participation, but it will be new years eve before I am ready to post! Good news is they are in the same key!
