Thought it was pretty interesting to learn a little about Ivan Galamian, his philosophy on teaching violinist and the legacy he left.
He became the head of Violin at Juilliard School, wrote 2 books & founded the Summer School of Music "Meadowmount" - his students went on to be great violinist & teachers themselves.
Meadowmount
I have been watching some masterclass videos by a few teachers that were Galamian's students - Pinchas Zukerman, Joseph Silverstein & Glenn Dicterow!
I like the way Ivan Galamian customized help for his students.
ALSO, I noticed he didn't like the Russian style bowhold - felt it didn't offer enough flexibility.
