playNext Group Project.

The House Of The Rising Sun

For now the deadline for your submissions is June 8th, 2015 at which time I will begin mixing. I encourage all 1st violin recordings to include one of the 3 other parts as well so that we don't have too many melodies. If the timing of your submission does not correspond with the playback file I will not use it. All submissions should be converted to MP4 (MPEG-4) with a minimum resolution of 640 x 480. No audio only submissions.
Visit this forum link to participate on the discussion of this project.

Please download the click track to your computer, phone, MP3 player or similar for use during your recording. Any video submission recorded without the use of this playback file "in ear" (preferably using a headphone jack) will not be used. We cannot match all the parts unless you are hearing the playback file while recording.

After recording yourself using the click track ( in ear only, should not audible on your recording) SPREND the MP4/MPEG-4 preferred video file to [email protected] (Do not email the files as they are too large). If you have Dropbox, Google drive or similar, feel free to send the link to the uploaded file instead.
Please spread…

Yay.  This is going to be so awesome!

Opportunity is often missed because it wears suspenders and looks like hard work.

I already have learned a version of this, and now I have to learn a "different" arrangement..

Oh this is going to be a great challenge for me!

Thank you Pierre.

@BillyG  I am pretty sure I will stick with Noelle  (FM Soloist violin)  for the project.

But Evie2/ renamed Rosie... will be making a debut sooner or later.  Yahoo.

Aloha @Fiddlerman,

This looks a bit ambitious for me, but I'll try it out and see how I get along.  Double stops are not my friend right now, but this will give me a bit of practice and maybe I can sound presentable by submission time.  Thanks for making work on this.

For double stops, you could choose top or bottom line. It's not important.
We can assign top and bottom if players mention what part they will be doing.
I'll "try" to find time to do demos on each part.
I will also make a midi file (Bill ;)) from the Finale file I have.

Looks like a fun project.  Just printed out all four violin parts.  Violin 2 looks like the most interesting part. Ibud, don't be intimidated by the double stops.  Give them a try, I'll bet they will be easier than you think.

Ahhh, MIDI....     Thanks!  I always find that handy to work along with - it doubles up as a "click" for the timing and at the same time a "check on the intonation".  Cool.   I assume it will just "fall out" of the Finale project with a few clicks of the mouse?

Definitely looks fun. Some of the parts are ambitious for me at the moment, but I'm pretty sure I can swing 1 or 2 pieces. Pretty cool motivation.

This looks cool!  I'm going to try violin 3 maybe with double stops, maybe just with one note depending on how it all goes.

The click track is ready now.

I'll bounce some individual midi parts as well so that you guys can seperate the parts from the audio a bit easier for practice purposes. :)

Just "right click" on that link to the mp3 track and choose "save as" and put it somewhere on your desktop or in a folder for the project.

If you go here...

https://fiddlerman.com/2015/04.....n-project/

, Pierre has listed all the various parts Violin 1, 2, 3, 4 etc and for the viola also. If you click on one of them, up pops a pdf of the "score" and you can choose "save a copy" from your Adobe pdf program. Place whatever score you choose in the same folder as the click track to keep organized.

From there, just play the click track as you read the music and you're on your way!

When it comes time to record the video for the final cut you'll submit, just use some ear buds or headphones and play along with the track which only you would hear. The video camera will do the rest.

Sprend is a place to upload your video so he can get to it.

http://www.sprend.com

Choose upload a video and then use his email address to upload it to him.

I take it that's at 72 bpm @Fiddlerman ?  (although of course, it's the click track timing that is the definitive reference to play along to - I understand that)...    Just didn't spot any reference to it (maybe you intentionally didn't mention it of course...)
