@BillyG Haha, well I certainly feel over the moon about sticking to my plan of participating in the project. Maybe I'll make it to the stars one day!
@FirstPancake Thanks for the good wishes! My violin is in a shop now. I am not happy with the situation and the unexpected expense, but it could have been worse. The luthier says nothing else was damaged. All he has to do is reglue the fingerboard!
@Fiddlerman When is the next project?!?!? I'm ready!

Sending VLA 3, 5 and 6. (can you confirm you received them, thanks) Somehow I feel the editing on these will be far more exhausting than my attempts at video-graphing.
You can credit me as "Steve Nordborg (Ripton)". I will, again, share with my music school and, with your permission, post on their website/facebook page.

Can I say how nervous I am to record tomorrow? Well I am .. and that is what my whole day is reserved for..
The violin 1B saved me.... I just am very bad after the rests.. counting correctly to come back in on time.... and a teeny other issues...
But I am pushing that record button and sprending... WOOOOO HOOO TOMORROW.

Yay, Coolpinkone! I've seen you in other videos. You'll be fantastic! Plus I really trust Fiddlerman to use our best moments and make us look good.
Les might record a cello part tonight and send it in. He's been working very hard on it!

I'm about to submit my cello piece. I took the Violin-3 part and transposed it to the bass clef. I have a couple of mistakes, but I think there will be some good, usable parts. I have to let a couple of problems go so that I can get this in today. I'm an adult learner, started lessons seven years ago. Loving it! My partner, Leanna, helped get me into this. I'm glad she did!

Hi, Toni! Waves to You too XD!!!Just sprended mine. Far from perfect, but at least without the odd noises (my dad kept walking in the hall and sneezing, i even look paranoid on V1 record, LOL!!!!) XD
LOL Naska, that is so funny. You have to reprimand your dad big time.
You did great as usual. I remember when you were a beginner here. You have come so far. It's always a lot of fun seeing your videos and progress. I only wish you had better lighting.

LOL, Toni! I read all this comments and understand that we all alike here about this. Everybody's having fun but nervous. I don't know how many records i've made, but every time i hit the "record" button, my brain is like: "DON'T! YOU'RE GONNA SCREW UP AGAIN!!! -_-" Hahahahaha!!!
But.... So.... We... Are.... Doing.... IT!!!

Ah, yup. Right out of my play book as well.
Wish i Had a remote for the iMac and iPod. Starting the click track and putting the iPod into my pocket and then the camera on the PC drove me crazy. How many times I heard FM say "ready... set... play" before I even had my viola in hand was... (well I leave that thought here to myself...).

Ack! Same here!
This being the first occasion I've ever attempting video of this sort...I momentarily had a video of myself with a suberp combination of panic, confusion, falling down, pausing my mp3 player, and trying to look like I was playing the violin like nothing was wrong at the same time.

Yup, great to see a last minute spurt in submissions ! Well done !
I cheat with the click track - I take it into Audacity and add about 30 seconds silence before the start and save it back out as an mp3. I've checked the timing of the original versus the "imported to audacity, prepended silence, saved back as mp3 version" and to be honest, there is no perceptible difference... If it is a real issue for you, it's maybe worth thinking about if you are equipped with Audacity, or similar software on whatever platform you use....
I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh -
Please make your own, different mistakes, and help us all learn :-)

BillyG,
Similar issue and solution.
Also, for me, there is a low-frequency drumming in the background, which was distracting to my overly-sensitive ears. So I filtered that out.
Pierre, how do you manage to synchronize all these files? That has to be a big task; you must have a way to automate it. I believe my FCPX software can automatically sync files based on audio.
I will often record two or three of the countdowns (Four, Three, Two) with my voice as an aid for myself.
Interesting, since I did not pay sufficient attention to the beats in the countdown, at first, I assumed the whiplash sound would be on the first beat of the measure. Then, my brain figured out that I had that wrong!
Preparing for this was a lot like getting ready for a recital. The intensity really helps get the job done. An enjoyable and worthwhile activity.
Thank you, Pierre.
