Hi, Fiddlerman and everyone! Just wanted to check in.
I got injured and am not sure I will contribute recordings to the Rising Sun project. I am seeing a hand doctor on Monday and we'll see what he says. I slipped on water in my bathroom and had a nasty fall. My hands got hurt, among some other issues.
My teacher says to lay off playing, but I think she's overreacting. Les is agrees with my teacher so I am outnumbered, but I really want to play Rising Sun! I feel my injury is minor. I think everything will be fine and the doctor will agree. I bet the stiffness and pain I feel just needs time to go away.
So, I just wanted to explain why I have not been talkative here on the forum. If I do not contribute to this project, you'll know what happened.
All in all, I just feel lucky to be alive. That sounds kind of dramatic, but I could have died from head injury or the bleeding if I had been knocked unconscious and been unable to call for help. Fortunately I stayed alert and could use the phone.
I am going to try to send in a Rising Sun recording if the doctor says it is okay. I won't be playing as well as I wanted to, but it will still be fun!

@coolpinkone Thanks for your nice note! I really think my hands will be fine and everyone is overreacting. I hope the hand specialist I will see soon will back me up. I can play now, but my teacher thinks it is inadvisable. Les is being the enforcer! I know they care about me, but I sure miss playing. I think I will be able to convince Les to let me try a few takes for the Rising Sun project, if I don't overdo it.
You know, it is amazing how much "free time" I have when I am not playing. I am kind of bored. I might have to resort to cleaning the house or something!

PHEW! what a frustrating night! After spending a couple hours warming up and taking many many takes to get some times clean recordings, I accidentally deleted all my videos and had to redo them. Of course I also have ADD, and I ran out of said attention to get through my parts without fudging anymore. But...I managed to squeeze some decent playing out before really pooping out for the night.
V1 and V2 parts recorded and submitted!

LOL - glad you got it done ! I messed up as well (not as severely as you though!), but it will be fine - my video recording software defaults to automatically split the audio and video. I did several takes, trying to get the best "bowing" consistency - I still struggle with direction change.... but the screen was getting so cluttered I deleted some of the video tracks- and yes - I deleted the one that went with the "best" audio.... oh boy oh boy.. so I just lined up the "best audio" with an older video! I was kicking myself... anyway - it will be fine, it'll get split apart anyway for mixing - and in places I'll appear to be doing down-bows where others are up-bows etc... oh well.... and my upload via sprend finally completed THIS morning - like it took 12 hours... lucky my service stayed up that long actually.... The problems we have to deal with !!!! Nevertheless, wouldn't miss these projects for anything ! Congrats on getting the two parts done !
I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh -
Please make your own, different mistakes, and help us all learn :-)
