i bought this bow second in dublin in the early 90s. I have never identified its origins but the elderly gent who sold it to me realising i hadnt any idea what i was buying looked me straight in the eye and said, this is a really good bow you know. Anyway, if anybody recognises the what looks like 'LC' stamp it would be great.IMG20240305212152.jpgImage EnlargerIMG20240305212159.jpgImage Enlarger

Welcome to the forum, @rubble_b.

Not sure it is a "C". Looks like the opening that would be on a "C" is actually closed like an O or Q. Not positive about the L, either. But, other than that, have you asked the guy who sold it to you and asked him why it is a very good bow?

It would be great if you would introduce yourself in the new member section.

The "lc" (if that's what it is) could be an owner's initials - they are not precision, nor is much else that I can see in the photos. In photo 2 I see 7 or 8 better quality faded letters after the "lc".

@rubble_b I was thinking, could you take a thin piece of aluminum foil and carefully or push it down over that side of the bow and see what indentations you get? Maybe you will see more? Just a thin layer might work better than a thicker layer?

Edited by Mouse to remove info I found to be incorrect.

Post it on maestronet.

To be honest if he knew you didn't know anything,  then tells you it's a great bow, especially in Dublin, I would be extremely dubious. He didn't have a twinkle in his eye as he said it did he.

Unless the photos are bad, to me the stick looks warped. Maybe even broken.

The frog also looks like it's coming away from the stick.

It needs a re hair in any case.

@rubble_b  I think Stringy is exactly correct. It might not be worth to get it fixed up. Probably cost a lot more than you paid for it.
