It has arrived!

And it is GORGEOUS!!

I had to double-check the outside of the box for the model number to be sure they sent me the same model. I just couldn't believe the difference...

I'm going to have a hard time getting any more work done here at the shop with this distraction in my office. Pictures later. I can't wait to show you all.

That's great news! I'm still waiting for my e-violin replacement. I've had to do a few exchanges on a couple of violins and really happy with the replacements.

I guess it was worth the wait then :-) Now your son can't say, "I told you" right?

I wasn't worried about my son. It was my son's teacher I didn't want to face...

Had my first lesson with my own viola tonight for the first time. My favorite part was when my son and I played together. My least favorite? Being told how bad my hand position was... ;-)

I'll take the promised pictures when I get home from Aikido classes tonight.

Not as many photos this time, as it's late and the light in my living room isn't nearly so well suited to photography as at my office: Cecilio CVA-400 Viola

Some discrepancies from the official description: The viola is awfully shiny for having a "satin varnish," and this instrument has a one-piece back. Neither of those differences are going to get a complaint out of me, though. wink

 I think it is lovely.

Hats off to KK Music Store for the excellent customer service. I'll be writing a customer testimonial letter tomorrow to let them know how pleased I am.

thumbs-up

Glad to hear how everything worked out and those pictures look like you got yourself a heck of a bargain.
Congratulations HC

Uploaded a few of these for your sake. cow-fingerscrossedcrossedfingers

Also started working on a Viola section but didn't get very far :-(

That reminds me that I can put the Christmas Project on the dedicated VIOLA PAGE since it is done anyway. exactly

I've updated the photos in the gallery linked above with better ones taken at the shop.

As for the Christmas project – I've got to be able to make discernible notes come out of the Viola first, before I make any attempts to play part of a score. I'm still an absolute beginner! embarassed

<Edit> Fiddlerman – Perhaps you can move this entire thread into your fledgling VIOLA section, now that you've got a place to put it? Probably a better fit than here in the Violin section.

I really don't want to move this one because there are surely no users as of yet in the VIOLA section. <------ Why do we always shout that word?roflBesides, plenty of violinist are following this thread. Maybe if the VIOLA section get's popular we'll separate a little more. Viola is very much like the violin though and I feel that we belong in the same thread. After all, the VIOLA jokes are here. LOL Contrary to popular belief, we like violists.
