I recently replaced my  Zyex strings with Larsen.

http://fiddlershop.com/strings.....gular.html

I am very pleased with the strings.   I will use these strings and true to my pattern, I will replace with the same strings when the times comes. ( I usually try the strings for two times).

I don't have all the "terms" or expressions that others use to describe  strings.

  •  I feel they are warm.
  •  I feel they vibrate and ring beautifully.  I am in love with the G string again.
  • I feel they are buttery smooth, I hear so much tone and clarity, no harshness.
  • I actually prefer this E string over the Gold E string that I had on my violin. (I do have to get my bowing back on track.. because I am back to bowing wonky on the E string.. and then I get "no sound."

My violin is the first generation Soloist and it is remarkable with these strings.   I don't think in my first few years of playing it would have done any good to have these strings.... but who knows?

I feel happy that I can hear and feel and make a lovely sound with these strings.  Now I notice that my fiddle tunes sound different at this point, so I am not sure these would be a string I would use for my fiddle tunes. (faster fiddle??)  I could be mistaken here and would like to converse about this if anyone has a reason or just tell me I am out of my mind too.. LOL

I really appreciate these strings, time will tell how they wear and reveal more, but I do like them now.  thumbs-up

I like the "terms" that you used. 🙂
