Hi everyone,
I was looking to upgrade from my Cecilio CVN-EAV and found a advertised CVN-700.
It got here today, but here is the rub, its wasn't a CVN-700, instead it was a CVN-600.
I know I only paid $300 for it and shouldn't complain.. But if your looking on Ebay
remember caviat emtor.
Its not a bad violin, sounds ok, but I don't like the prelude strings, they will be the first thing to go.
I'll work with it for a couple of weeks and give a better assessment on it..
With violins there is no fretting over the music.

Ok I have had a couple of weeks to compare and get use to the new violin;
The reason for upgrading was with all the changes I had made to the CVN-EAV, I thought that I had stretch it to its palettes limit. Even though I called it the Soulless Wonder. It was really a good violin tone wise. Cosmetically it was horrible, Blemish's all over it.
The craftsmanship on the 600 is far better.
So far with the few changes I have made to the CVN-600 (new strings and carved bridge), it is showing a lot more color and possibilities. I'm also waiting on some cosmetic parts that I hope well enhance the tone a little more.(A tamarind harp style tailpiece) Complete Tamarind hardware for looks. This set is a redish purple color with gold accents that I hope helps the look.
I feel that is CVN-600 will take me a long ways before I have to buy another violin.
With violins there is no fretting over the music.
