I would absolutely LOVE to attend this!!!! I know I'll there for the 150th anniversary, but I wish I could go to this as well! .....maybe I can sneak off for a 10 hour drive without my wife noticing! LOL
I love listening to how different musicians interpret music of that period! Especially in a camp environment! I could listen and watch for hours! .....I just need to get to that point where I can play along with 'em!

In theory that would have worked, but she knows my obsession with anything Civil War and knows that I REALLY want to go to Gettysburg, so she will be extremely suspicious! LOL But you know what? I figured out the ratio for a happy marriage! If I want something, I just have to make sure that I get her something of equal or greater value! .....including trips! Now the big question! What trip is equal (or greater) then a Gettysburg road trip? ....and what gift is equal (or greater) then an electric violin??

Here's how you do it: take your wife with you. Tell her that you're taking her on a mystery get-away weekend...and you end up in...Gettysburg! And you just happen upon this Civil War music muster thing that's going on. Then you go out for a nice dinner, maybe do a little antique hunting or outlet shopping the next day. It's a win-win!
Oh,,, and by the way, honey,,,,,, I just happened to bring my violin on this " I dunno where we're going trip"......
