Seems like the Viola is the perfect instrument for Elegies

Eivind Holtsmark Ringstad plays "Elegy for Viola & Piano Op.30", composed by Henri Vieuxtemps.

Here's the matching play-along sheet music (thenameisgsarci).

Notice the unusual C Clef used in the 16th & 17th Century?

RIP JohnG.

Timothy Ridout plays "Elegie" composed by Gabriel Faure.

Here is the play-along sheet music, but it's hard to see - think there's a Tenor Clef to read for the Viola.  Learn about How to Read the Alto & Tenor Clefs

This is one of my favorites - Lawrence Power plays the "Elegy for Solo Viola" composed by Benjamin Britten.

Here's the play-along sheet music.

Another beautiful piece, this "Elegy Op.15 for Solo Viola and String Orchestra" composed by Herbert Howell is played by Ana Teresa de Braga e Alves and the Royal College of Music Symphony Orchestra.

Here's the play-along sheet music (Pranav Ranjit).

...spending the day listening to Viola & going over memories of JohnG, because of his funeral today.
