I couldn't wait to get it set up this way Naska. When I saw the new change I was so happy. It's cleaner without having to get rid of any smileys.

I still have to figure out what is happening for Terry and his quotes.
If anyone else has the same trouble please let me know in detail.

I really need for everyone who is having trouble to try to make a note of which OS and browser plus version that you are using in order to reproduce the errors and troubleshoot.

I.E. version 9.0.8112  16421

Using windows 7 home

posting a pdf attachment results in a quicktime window being displayed and an attachment link to the actual pdf document.

If I start to post an answer to a thread, I can type several lines of text and hit reply and it just stalls out, won't post at all, so I have to copy the post, then hit the reload button at the top for reloading the entire page and then hit reply again, paste the text I copied and then hit submit quick and it posts without issue.

So far, that's the only issues I'm having

@cdennyb: have you tried Google Chrome browser just to see if it's any better than IE? A different browser just in case IE has problem with certain file/package displayed.

Here's the same post using opera (latest version) Note: the upload secondary window wouldnt open, I had to drag and drop from the origin folder.

I got it perfectly displayed and downloaded. No problem at all, windows XP service pack 3 and google chrome.

However, just to verify the problem with IE browser (with quicktime player installed) I open my IE and you're correct, your pdf open with QT. IE browser associated pdf (portable document format) files with quicktime pluggin instead of pdf viewer program.

So I went to IE configuration option and there is a page for managing add-on (quicktime pluggin is one of them), disable quicktime, restart IE then there it is, opening  your post with pdf, everything look fine.

Thanks for clarifying that ratvn.

Your issue with posting PDF's is not an issue with this forum Dennis, rather an issue with your browser being able to handle and view the posted PDF.

As far as the other issue is concerned, I will research what the cause of that could be. Sounds like the Database is in rest mode when you are posting. Good thing that you thought about copying the post beforehand. thumbs-up
