Holding the rosin correctly can lengthen the lifespan of your rosin. Rotate the rosin from time to time to avoid creating a groove for the hair to travel in.
Cover the frog ferrule with an overlapping finger to avoid chipping the rosin.
Applying too much rosin is both wasteful and messy.
