I posted a while back in the forum regarding a violin for my brother.

Would this be a good choice for him for his first violin? Video included:

I'll let someone else answer that question since I own Fiddlershop smile

I currently own the Kohr K550 and absolutely love it. I personally played on about 6 different violins and this one sounds the best.

To be honest it plays a lot better than I do!

Yes buy that one.  It's very reasonably priced.  You won't get the kind of internet crap from Fiddlerman… he listens and plays them.  I like the sound of it.  And I espcially like the price.  I personally buy broken ones from Ebay and fix them up because I feel sorry for them after reading the story :The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane".  I think the old violins are ready to sing and sing well.

Once I have a bit more money I will buy one from Fiddlerman.  Not because of some family relationship, but because of his recommendations which do not seem connected to price point.  I've seen him recommend lower priced items at times.

That violin is a gem, if you could get it you would really glad you did.  It's really nice and you would be proud to give it as a gift or keep it yourself and give yours to your brother.
