To greater insure that the sound-post stays in place on a violin or viola during shipping, you can easily build your own bridge support. This simple cardboard insert (invented by Fiddlerman ;-)) will keep your bridge from collapsing in cases where the package is thrown dropped. While there are no guarantees that the strings will stay in tune the chances are much greater that the instrument will arrive in the same condition that it was sent.
