Aloha @Fiddlerman,

I am almost ready to tape myself playing at least some of the parts for this project.  I seem to remember seeing some technical requirements for the video file and how to get it to you.  I think you use something called Sprend, but I'm not sure if that is correct.  Do you have written documentation on the specs for the files and their transport?  I just need to know that I'm doing everything in order.

ibud - let me jump in since I caught the post a few mins ago - and posted much the same earlier - here's the low-down on this -

.... copy from old post....

We usually use the "sprend" ( http://www.sprend.com ) service - on that page just enter FM's email address [email protected] in the "To" field, and add something in the "Message" field - like your name, possibly your email address, anything else you need Pierre to know....

Hope that helps....

Bill

Aha - yes - Pierre also requests both vid and audio, with video resolution at least 640 x 480 pixels or better....

HTH, Bill

I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh - guntohead.JPG

Edit - Disregard, I must have lost my mind today.

HEY?????

What happened to the first click track.  Did I miss something?  That is what I was using.

:(  It's no biggie.. I was just spoiled with the first one.

LOL @coolpinkone - I'm guessing about your post there - when the project was first posted, I think FM's link went to the click for Thaxted?  Or, it referred to being at 76 bpm originally?    That was when it (the click track/tempo) was "up for suggestions" - and was finally decided on 108...

Or am I misunderstanding your post entirely, and you did what I did, and played along to the rhythm of the Can-Can?  LMAO - I'm kidding with yah !   Hmmmm... thinks about that !!!!   LOLOL

I don't think I am loosing my mind....but originally there was a different click track...it was Piano sounding... and it played the song "notes."  I don't know how to say it.. who know.. maybe I was just "high".... Kidding..

????

I am good with the new (to me one)... I was just surprised.

EDIT:

I think I am out of my head... the five clickable link for the click tracks are all as they were before... AM I going nuts or what.... sorry for the confusion people.  I think I need rest or something.

Aloha @BillyG,

Thanks for the info on the resolution and sprend.  I'll try a recording and see how good it turns out.  I'll have to find a "festive" shirt to wear.  I think I'll wear one of my Hawaiian shirts.  I don't have a Christmas sweater or anything, as it's probably going to still be around 80 degrees or so on Christmas here cool

Toni, I'm not sure what you mean. I'm hoping there is no mistake but make sure you are visiting this link for your click track:
https://fiddlerman.com/2014/11.....christmas/

You might be on the Thaxted page.

OK, finally. I have Viola III down pat pretty well. Just need to work out some kinks on my bowing and intonation. Sorry to ask but can anyone point me in a direction that will help me get the video file (jpeg I think) that I have save on my iMac to the MP4 (MPEG-4) with a minimum resolution of 640 x 480 version that's required.

Thanks.

Congrats Ripton.

@Fiddlerman I must have been nutty.  Or it had something to do with having one ear bud in at work.  Sorry for the worry!

jpeg is a picture format. It can't be a JPEG. Don't worry Ripton, I can convert the file for you. If you recorded it with your iMac, it's probably a .mov file. Quicktime or possibly MPEG which is perfect for me. :)

You can also download the great free application called MPEG Streamclip:
http://www.squared5.com/
With this application you can convert almost any file to anything you like. :)

@Ivanorcan - WELCOME!  thumbs-upthumbs-upthumbs-up

You've come to the right place - there's a lot going on here - apart from the specific projects like this which have a deadline for submissions - feel free to join in any of the "parties" which are just left permanently open for submissions (oh, like Ashokan, Red Wing, Swallowtail, Halloween and so on)!   Enjoy !

My first cut is recorded and saved. Sent via Google Share Drive. I think I need my 14yo's help to figure this computer stuff out more than my instructor for the music. lol...I will be up at the mountain cabin this weekend and hope to get some good outside filming done. Should add a little bit of photographic flair I hope...
