That is quite an interesting shoulder rest Hahn is using; maybe some type of custom one. The pianist's page turner must be obligatory since the music was memorized and no page turning was done that I could tell!

(Of course I enjoyed the performance.)

Interesting sound, Suresh. It's also interesting how they hold the violin...like an Old Time American fiddler. For example (this has been posted elsewhere here):

When the work's all done and the sun's settin' low,

I pull out my fiddle and I rosin up the bow.

I love the way he dances while he plays. :-)

Got this video from a friend who's a space geek. I loved the footage of the sun, but I loved the music more. It's "A Lady's Errand of Love", composed and performed by Martin Lass. After watching the vid, I replayed it with my eyes closed. So beautiful!

Song cuts off at the end, but you can find other versions of it on YouTube as well.

I am not judging it....

a) not played on the same instrument

b) venue not same

c) different recording system

and most importantly

d) I am not qualified (not even a beginner)

...but then I like Mendelssohn and those violinists..Great.. I salute them..
