Hey! I've been away from the forums recently - it's holidays in Brazil and I've been travelling with my friends. On the other hand, there isn't a single day I don't practice the violin.

Here's my recording of the Chrono Trigger Theme:

I wanted to record a video, but my camera's out of battery and I can't find the charger. Oh, joy.

Anyway, this is my first attempt at going that high on the violin's fingerboard. Any criticism and/or tips for shifting would be most welcome. :D

Nice.  Thanks.

I think it sounds really nice Augusto.  Glad you have been vacationing... and playing violin.

What a lovely song.   You have a great base.. it will only get better.   :)

It sound really good! I believe I heard the shift just once maybe twice, but that is not bad at all. If you practice every day then your shifts will not be audible for long. For shifting my teacher got me to just practice the same jump over and over again until it was smooth and in tune. But really that sounded great!

Good luck.

@coolpinkone - thanks! I've been practicing a lot, specially because I'm closer and closer to the day the Conservatoire opens it's doors. :D

@Jerusha77 - Thanks! I've been doing just that with this song - whenever there's a shift, I practice it a lot before "sewing it up" to the rest of the song. :)

Amazing job! You sound great.

The only thing I can say about shifting is don't suffer from antecipation. When we overthink about the shift that is coming up, most times goes a bit off.

Keep up the good work :)

@ElisaDalViolin , Thanks! When I first started learning shifts, that was a major problem for me. I'm much more comfortable with it now, however. :D

@antreidez , I downloaded a .midi of the original SNES song and removed the main part (the one that I play). I could send it to you if you'd like, just add me on skype - my ID is in my signature. :)
