How and where can i improve? what should i focus on? i can barely read music. All that ive played here is just by ear.

(except the Beethoven piece where i tried learning the notes)

Is my vibrato audible? how far am i behind?

I am just about 1 yr in to playing, so my advice would be very limited.  But, I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed listening, the "expression" and the different bowing techniques.  The pieces were very "listenable" to - I am (ashamedly) largely ignorant of classical pieces - and how these would "normally sound" - but I enjoyed them very much.  Yes I caught the subtle vibrato !

I'm WAY behind that level of playing, more of a "fiddle music" fan myself.  I leave it to others more capable than me to give you constructive feedback!   Thanks for the performance !   thumbs-upthumbs-up

I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh - guntohead.JPG

Please make your own, different mistakes, and help us all learn :-)

I think you sound very very nice.    I would never guessed self-taught and playing by ear. BRAVO!!!thumbs-up

Thanks for sharing. Keep up the good work.   You should be proud of your progress in two years.  You must know it is very very good.

I hope some of the advanced players can step in and give you some suggestions. Right on!!

Wow, I think you sound fantastic, jabberwockie. And yes, your vibrato is most definitely audible. I think it sounds lovely.

I hope you're proud of yourself. You've really come a long way without a teacher. As for how far behind you are, HA! I will need to catch up with YOU.

You sound quite wonderful, a natural talent.  I hope you will learn to read music.  How does that saying go, give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to read music and he'll be able to play anything!  ... or something like that...  at any rate, keep up the great work! cheers
