Got 3 videos loaded to the Dropbox link. I had a hard time getting them uploaded; maybe Cyber Monday Internet congestion?
My first attempt, I clicked on the Dropbox link, & tried to load all 3 files. It indicated that it was going to take over 400 minutes, & after 4 minutes the upload failed.
I got out & went back in, & I then tried to upload just one file. It failed after about 12 minutes with 26% of file loaded.
I tried a few more times, and got it to go eventually—the successful attempt took 18 minutes (file was 324 mb).
I was not having any luck with the other two videos—upload attempts kept failing--so I logged into my Dropbox account (free account—you can upload up to 2 GB into their storage), and uploaded the 2nd video to my account.
This upload took about 45 minutes, but was successful. I then clicked on the Wexford GP Dropbox link, and chose to upload the video from my account (where I just uploaded it; "from Dropbox" is one of the options to upload).
The file transferred in like 2 seconds (and I got a confirmation email from Dropbox that it was successfully uploaded to the “Wexford Carol Project” Dropbox).
Did the same thing with the 3rd video, with the same results (i.e., about 45 min upload, 2 seconds to transfer, & confirmation email).
Again, might have been just an internet congestion thing, but just wanted to let you all know, in case you have any problems.
If I were to do it again, and it failed to upload from the Wexford GP Dropbox link, I would
1) Upload the video (one at a time) to my Dropbox account, and then
2) Select the Wexford GP Dropbox link, and chose to upload file from my Dropbox account.
BTW, my 3rd video was the Viola 3 part – got me a 14” Fiddlerman Master Viola. That’s right, a little one—so I guess it’s just a little of the “dark side”.

@--Jim-- c
Jim, just keep an eye on the official Fiddlerman thread on this year’s project.
Fiddlerman usually posts a list of videos he’s received once we get closer to the deadline, and you’ll have a chance or two to rectify a missing video.
How this is approached has varied. I think that last year we got individual confirmations if I recall correctly. But I think there’s almost always a list.

Just a note, since @jim c is asking about video-received confirmation.
When I uploaded my 3 videos yesterday (described in #64 post above):
When I uploaded my 1st video directly via the Wexford Dropbox link, I only got the onscreen confirmation (no email).
When I sent my 2 other videos, I logged into my Dropbox account, uploaded there, & then clicked on the Wexford GP Dropbox link & select the upload option “from Dropbox” (i.e., from my Dropbox account).
When I did these 2 video uploads to my Dropbox account, & then uploaded to the Wexford GP Dropbox link while logged into my account, I got the onscreen confirmation AND an email from Dropbox confirming the upload to “Wexford Carol Project” Dropbox.

. . .For everyone, I won't use more than one video. I'll use the audio from all your submissions but let me know which video you want me to use. . . .
@Fiddlerman I'd like my Violin1 to be used for video.

I think it would be wonderful, VERY Christmasy, to see family members play together in one video!
What do you say, would that cause a problem, @Fiddlerman ?
It's hard for me to get those matched in a group video at the end. It all depends on how I do it. I'm not going to turn down those videos, but I prefer individuals, just in case I have to crop.
