Hello everybody,
I'm so glad I found this website, so cool to be part of an enthusiastic violin community! As a kid I learned to play the clarinet, and I really enjoyed it. Then the clarinet went in the case for about 10 years. Then I started missing the music and also I was watching all these great videos from Lindsey Stirling and 2 Cellos! And I just so much wanted to start learning to play the violin!
So, 5 months ago at the age of 30 I got my first violin!!! 🙂 And I'm learning a lot with videos on Youtube and forums like this one. When I got my violin, I couldn't even imagine I would like it this much!! Every day I'm looking forward to play the violin and learn something new!! I love the sound of the violin, I love the violin journey!
And I'm very grateful to be part of this community! Hope to learn a lot and maybe encourage others as well!

Welcome to the board 🙂 This is a great, helpful group of people on here.
Playing and learning does get addictive, doesn't it? I know my practice sessions always end up going longer than I had planned, lol.

Yes! Sometimes when I'm tired after work, I think I'll just go practice for 15 minutes, do some scales to fine tune my fingering, or just run through a couple bars of a song that I need to do better at, and before I know it the time has flown by 🙂 I love it.

I love hearing that learning and playing the violin is addictive.
Oh yes, playing the violin seems to be more addictive every day! I play at least an hour a day and I am soooo happy that some days I have more time. I just can't stop thinking about the violin all day!! And I completely loose track of time when I start playing.
