Exactly what I've been looking for - thanks! It's so hard as a beginner to work up the courage to jam with more experienced people, especially if they play a different style of music, and this may just provide a key to blending in for me.

Here's a link to a blues violin book I bought (won't have it for a few days) but will let you know what I think of it when I get it. I love playing the blues on guitar so thought I would venture into this style. on violin. Glad to see there's others that like the blues too. I wonder if there is a way to mount a harmonica on a violin. Ok that's a little strange. My wife laughs at me when a use a harmonica holder when I play the guitar with harmonica. she says it looks like I have braises from hell.

I have a briefcase full of harmonicas. The bass player of my band (rest in peace) played with Sugar Blue (played most of the harmonica parts for The Rolling Stones in the seventies). I learned to play a pretty good harmonica. Still play almost everyday. But, i'm here to learn how to play violin and not get a monkey to clap the cymbals for me 😉
Something different to do Fiddlerman. I know in my lifetime that I will never be able to catch up to you on the fiddle. But maybe one-day we can write a song together...
