I have been learning the violin for a few months now but I could not get the sound out of it that I liked.  My violin was way out of tune due to the calibration of the tuner was way out.  After watching Fiddleman's video on tuning and he mentioned 440 for the A, I checked and my tuner was at 480.  I reset it to 440, retuned and now it sounds much better.

I have a Korg CA-1.  It has calibration buttons up or down.  Instructions never mentioned anything about it but in the top left of the screen it says what the frequency is for A

Fiddlerman,

I thought my speakers on the computer were off and that was why it sounded different.  Once tuned properly it is exactly the same.
