There's no mystery hidden in this fact - our bowed, fretless, string instruments can be very difficult to learn and reach a high skill level!
I take ALL the help I can get!
Personally, I ALWAYS want to be open to learning new things and able to make changes in my life so, I MUST be in the right frame of mind.
...it can be hard to stay in a productive and creative state of mind, with all the problems we face, as adults, parents and grandparents. today.
It's very strange, in light of recent conversations on the forum, but I just found (and want to recommend) a very helpful YouTube Channel - and I know there must be more out there!
Nice to get some free help - this channel belongs to "Heather Kaye" - please keep in mind, she offers Holistic help.
I just watched some of the videos - GREAT TUTORIALS!
The goal of this channel is to help adult violinists improve technique and tone to create a healthy violin journey. Specifically, I will teach you how to manage practice sessions effectively for the most progress in the shortest amount of time, how to study violin with a healthy mindset and play pain free. If you are using any form of meditation in your life, think about using MORE MUSIC!
Check out this video by Christophe Bordas (sorry, I'm a little infatuated at the moment) - Meditative Improvisation on 5-string Violin, A=432Hz!
Some BEAUTIFUL music played in this video - starting at 2:23.
Since childhood, I escape to music.
I always thought it was natural for everyone. Today I know not, so I suggest you share my experience which I have since enriched with a meditative dimension.
I suggest the following exercise, in order to find inner peace if you are anxious, sleep if you are insomniac, joy if you are sad ...Sit down, lie down, stand up no matter what but relax and with me:
- Sing a C by imagining the color black or red and focusing on your Base/Root chakra.
- Sing a D by imagining the orange color and focusing on your Sacral chakra.
- Sing an E by imagining the color Yellow and focusing on your Solar Plexus chakra.
-Sing a F by imagining the color green or pink and focusing on your Heart chakra.
-Sing a G by imagining the color blue and focusing on your Throat chakra
- Sing an A by imagining the indigo color and focusing on your Third Eye chakra.
- Sing an B by imagining the purple or white color and focusing on your Crown chakra.Let peace flood you with its benefits and, if possible, enrich your notes with harmonic sounds to create bridges between your chakras.
In the evening, when you go to bed, put the exercise in your head and let yourself be carried away by beautiful colorful dreams.Christophe Bordas
Makes ya feel all warm & fuzzy, doesn't it?
