thanks @stringy. yeah i looked yesterday for something new to try and got hooked on that one. It does seem to be Scottish in origin. This is one I ran across but out of this set the first tune is amazingly played. Its great. They then go into Da new rigged ship set but I listened to another for inspiration on that.
someone on here has shared a few of this tune but not sure if this one FEAR A BHATA
This is what I listened to the most to try and get it in my head.
that was excellent, some great playing. I particularly liked the slow first one in the first vid very, very relaxing, remimded me of the atmosphere of Edinburgh for some reason. Your not a million miles away from the fiddler in the second one, very similar sound.

@stringy -
Nice party idea!
Love the Carnival of Venice!
I fondly remember learning the basic tune & nursery rhyme from my Father and later in my German language lessons - My Hat, It Has Three Corners
Haven't heard the Highway to Dublin, only the Rocky Road to Dublin.
Great that you started this Party off with some wonderful tunes!
- Emily
I deleted the highway to dublin because I thought I am overpowering the party, and dont want to clog it up wih my tunes, thought it was unfair, as someone else may use that one
Its in o neils page 72, easy tune but a good one. Just learned a few more from there today, one of which sgt earlys jig, I am going to turn into a slow air as it has a mixylodian feel, see how it sounds.

I've seen other 'Rigged Ship' tunes at thesession.org.
Forgot to give you this old link with some other tunes I thought went well with Fear a Bhata. 😊 Btw, did googly on the name - got "Stick Man"... see what you get.

Yes, knew it was supposed to be "the Boatman", which makes sense... still makes me laugh that googly can't be consistent, or reliably correct. (lol)
Btw, is every tune that starts with "Da", like your "Da Full Rigged Ship", a Shetland tune?

ok @stringy. no more after this one for the topic. Heres a city one
Was just practicing tonight and found this track whick is what Im playing to, but slowed down to .90 speed
sorta what I had in my head
****EDIT
alright @stringy hope do-overs ok. 🙃 did this one without backing and hammed it up with some over done slides first time through with no ornaments. 2nd time added wherever they felt right. Im hating my e string at the moment and have another on the way. so try and ignore that mettalic zzzzz. part of reason i hated first go plus I had the gain up too high on the camera and it sounds distorted to me. turned video back on for comparison for a while. 😉
That was excellent playing greg, You nailed it to the door with that one.
I also like the look of that set up, you have behind you, mind you I dont play keyboard so that would only be useful for me to put my coffee cup on.
Bob on great post
