Very nice @SharonC and @Ilona !

This has made me tragically aware of how ignorant I am of Scandinavian music, and perhaps I should correct that. :D

Sorry I'm so late to the Party, but since it was allowed, I wanted to try a different one!

Here's my attempt at "Hammares Gånglåt".

@ELCBK Nice playing--I think I'm going to learn this one.  You had one heck of a party night!  I think I'd call it a concert! smile

@SharonC -

Thank you!

Here's the video I learned this from, which I obviously took extreme liberties. 🤣

I'm positive you all can do something great with this!

Great Party, Sharon... even more Gånglåts to be explored!

Hey,

I've wanted to participate in this party from the beginning, but only taking the time to do it now, I'm late ! 8 months late, hadn't realised it was that much, still feels like yesterday.

For once, I used my phone for recording, it's quicker.

@wtw -

THESE ARE FANATASTIC!

Beautiful Playing!

I'm so glad you revived this Party.

Where did you find "Mockfjard" & "Ulysse"

Never heard them before and I LOVE them both.

You've made my Holidays extra-festive - hope yours are, too!

...definitely renewed my interest in Gånglåt. 🤗

THANK YOU!

@wtw - really nice tunes, I like them !!!

And nicely played through !   I like the "movement" as you play - I tend to do the same, it brings a unique and personal expression into the playing!  thumbs-up

TY for posting - and I might even try to just pick-up the first one "by ear" - well - something to do over the holiday period ! Hahahaha!   TY again !

I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh - guntohead.JPG

Please make your own, different mistakes, and help us all learn :-)

@wtw Those were excellent!  Great playing! I’ve heard Ganglat Mockfjard, but never heard Ganglat Ulysse.  Thanks for joining this party! smile

Thanks for posting those, I unfamiliar with both of them,  I really like the first one.

I wish my bow hand and fingers were as flexible as yours, enjoyed those videos.

Thanks,

Mark

@ELCBK I just searched for "Ganglat" on Youtube back then, and those two came up in the results (here and here ; I use them as backing tracks).

@BillyG I can't help moving. This might interest you, I'm noticing a violin slow version has been posted on YT recently. Her version has two parts, mine was just the first half.

@SharonC @ABitRusty @Mark thank ye! I prefer the first one myself 😉 I don't really know what to do with "Ulysse", it's a bit long. I actually have no idea what the name of this song is - "Ulysse" is the name of the CD, not the title of the track. Or the title of the track may just be "Ganglat"…
