Im currently not able to practice and that is taking a toll, i injured both shoulders a couple weeks ago and playing is not an option at the moment.

Ive had 3 professions in my life, musician, truck driver, and welder. Maintaining all 3 as much as possible, but trucking is where im needed most at the moment.

Amid this pandemic, everyone is afraid on some level, be it those sheltered in place, or those deemed essential that are having to go into the populace to work. I took a paycut to join a company that delivers more essential products to the needs of the people. In doing so, i have placed myself in more contact with the possibly infected and have had to be educated on how not to catch the virus. One of the videos that was sent to me is very reassuring and i wanted to share it with you.

I hope you will watch all of it to the end, there is some cery good information in the questions asked.

Stay safe, keep your faith, i wish you all the best.

@Shane "Chicken" Wang - that sir, is a very honorable and compassionate thing to do.

More power to your elbow (I guess in more than one sense, having just seen what I wrote and your shoulder issue!!)

Take care out there, and be safe hats_off

@Shane "Chicken" Wang and others.  I have so many questions.

It must be hard to find food on the road.  Is it possible to wrap items in aluminum foil and cook on engine?  I thinking salmon filet and baked potatoes, but I guess you could cook several things in this fashion.

Will liberalizing legal driving hours for truckers materially reduce driver safety?

Are “tourist centers” still available?  I do not think that a “porta potty” could be safely used in this environment.

Keep safe.

Thanks for sharing that information Mark.

I haven't watched it yet, noticed it was a long video, but I will.
I've been trying to educate myself as well and it seems that most people will not know that they have had the virus. Most people who are sick will stay at home and not be tested. The ones that know have obviously had stronger to fatal symptoms. What will really be interesting to us is when they start testing random populations for the antibodies.

That is not to say that we shouldn't be worried and take all the precautions that we possibly can. The thing kills people for god sakes.....

It's very noble of you to take a pay cut to help get essential products delivered to those who desperately need it. We desperately need people like you. Thanks

My work has been busier. I am in community corrections. I used to drive a truck and wished I had my CDL and an opportunity to help fill the shelves with toilet paper. Be safe out there. I had to drive 8 hours yesterday pulling a trailer and remembered just how bad drivers are....

Now those of you from Miami, those drivers are CRAZY!

You can cook on the manifolds, takes a roast about 4 hours and its falling apart with a nice diesel overtone.

I tend to use the microwave or the george foreman grill...lol. i have a small kitchen in the truck, 2 fridges, frying pan, grill, chef mike, need an air fryer for healthier eating. Ive gotten fat.

Truckstops are still open and way overpriced,  but im thankful for them. These kids show up knowing they will come in contact with hundreds of possibly infected people everyday. Nothing but gratitude fornthese fine folk.

Grocery stores with parking have gotten weird depending on where you are. Some have entire sections closed off, saying certain merchandise is non essential.  Ridiculous. If you need it, its essential.  This type of quarantine is based on fear and adds to the the danger of people being kept to close together.  Groceries may be the most dangerous places to go. People have to eat, sick or not, and they will do what they have to do.

Hoping the ban is lifted soon enough to save the economy. If it goes on to long, it could take years to recover.

If you pray, pray. Live every day like it is a normal Saturday.  Get dressed, plan a date, whatever keeps you happy. Play that fiddle like theirs no tomorrow. Love one another, take advantage of the time you have, and dont worry about what you can not change.

The man with tissue is king right now. Never thought it would be considered a high value load.

Im getting hand sanitizer from a whiskey distillery,  bourbon and tequila flavored. Makes me want a drink even though i quit.

If you can stay home, do so. Every one has a part to play, and playing it safe is as important as any other.

Take care all and thanks.

@Shane "Chicken" Wang and others.  I obtain gasoline form a station the next town over because I like the young immigrant ownership.  I do not know what country they came from but it must have been war torn because I notice that they unconsciously use the gas pumps as “cover” when they take usage readings and the like.

The sister of the owner is currently going to medical school.  The last time I got gasoline (several weeks ago), I saw a posted notice on the pump.  I think she was involved.

1.  Only use credit card purchases.

2.  Enclose hand in provided paper towel when using handle.  If towel dispenser is empty, return to car and use horn to alert attendant.  Remain in car until he is finished.

3.  The pump will not ask for zip code and defaults to regular.  Use paper towel to press selection button if you need another grade.   No receipt tape will be issued.
