So I thought I'd keep a vlog (Video log, kinda like Blog) about me learning a new tune. Maybe it'll provide some insights on how to go about it. The one thing I don't really mention is that I've already listened to this song 100 times at least. So I can already sing it even though I can't play it yet.

I just went there myself and did not realize that all this content is now free. Pretty frickin amazing. At somepoint I'm going to go through and download it all because the site goes in and out every now and then.

That was great. Thanks a lot. I assume that was Band in a Box? Which version is it and is it worth it?
Yes this is Band in a Box 2012 with RealTracks (at the time I bought all of them). I personally think it's worth it and it really helps me with a lot of my practicing. Personally if you can find an older version for sale like on Ebay then you save yourself some money. You can save some money by picking and choosing which backing realtracks (which is the magical part) you want instead of just buying all of them. Also they do sales every now and then, so you can sign up for their newsletter and wait for a sale to come around.
With that said, if you want any backing tracks for bluegrass tunes (if you are into that kinda music) let me know I have a lot of them and I can make them for people if they can send me clear chord notation.

Haven't had much time to practice the last few days (already failed two days in at my 30 day practice challenge). But had a chance to try playing this more up to tempo with friends. The last time through is by far the best attempt, all of them are raggedy ... But it's interesting I didn't have to use any sheet music last night, it just came out of my fingers.

It is a pretty happy tune. Here's another attempt at 130bpm. It's a bit too fast for me, but I like to see how fast I can play.

So cool!! That sounds really good at that speed. I just now noticed the title the New in it.
This New Camptown Races sounds very different from the Camptown Races. There is also an Irish Camptown Races.
I am so slow on the uptake!! I just noticed that the Bluegrass College site is where Brian Wicklund has tunes. He also has this site http://www.fiddlepal.com/about.html I am learning from his 2 books.
I have gone to the site and downloaded all the songs, but then I saw the statement - The Bluegrass College. All Rights Reserved.

@Schaick I just think that it means that you can't repost the information other places. You can go ahead and download the material.
I played it again last night at practice
