I recently found that Fiddlerman sold Zemar violin strings, which I believe are from South Korea. My immediate need was for synthetic core fractional strings for my grand son’s project violin. The cost was kind of dear for my purpose.
Have any forum members tried them and, if so, how do they compare with the Fiddlerman label strings (which are my “go to”)?

A curse that I carry through life is that I am a literal thinker. As such, a statement like “there is no comparison” confuses me completely. Does that mean that the Fiddlerman strings are much better than that the Zemar, or is it the other way around?

@mark-seiver . Thank you for parsing the statement, as it was beyond me. If your comment came from personal experience, even better. I am want to abandon a known good for an uncertain better.
i hope that you found the video amusing.

@Irv -
I don't know where you find this stuff, but it's hilarious!
...I've run across occasions I felt an explanation like that was warranted. (lol)
I'm thinking of splurging for the fractional Zyex strings... pretty sure they'll last for the total length of time the violin will be used.
But, I'm still going to cut down a Pirastro 'Gold Label' E string to use! ...scared that any other E string will have my hair standing on end. 😖
