Excellent stuff, GWS.

Another old post that I find absolutely lovely. I never paid attention to the strings in Long Long Time. Wow! I always get so caught up in her lovely voice and phrasing when she sings. I am a big fan. I used to have her albums on my record player, yes record player, all the time. I played albums all day when my kids were little and Linda was a standard. Also had Rita Coolidge stacked on the little spindle all the time. I have the CD versions now and listen to them while sewng or painting. I will have to listen beyond their lovely voices and hear what is in the background.

I just love music.

@Mouse these records you speak of, is this back when dinosaurs roamed the earth?

Just playing, I had John Denver on my turntable. and that song Convoy with the Rubber Duck. Dr.Hook,Captain Cody and the Sky Commanders, Deep purple, Cream, The Captain and Tenille, Orlando and Dawn, Peaches and Herb. That's right sister, I just look young and pretty. I'm actually old a decrepit.

@Shane "Chicken" Wang Yea, the dinosaurs. Dino was my pet. Ate me out of house and home, though.

I also had John Denver, Captain and Tenille, Tony Orlando and Dawn, Gene Pitney, Bee Gees, Grassroots, etc. I just got about 20 more gray hairs.

The very first CD I bought, after I agreed qe could get a CD player and not use a turntable, was The Pointer Sisters. I still have that CD and still play it. Juice Newton was the second one. My husband opened a new outlet when he got that CD player. I have a ton of them because I love music, Peter Paul and Mary, Gordon Lightfoot (saw him in a Connecticut hotel lobby, LOL), Tammy Wynett, Everly Brothers, Beach Boys, it goes in and on. And not to mention the show tunes, Les Mis, Cats, etc.

Anyway, I will have to listen to these paying more attention to the background music now. I am so glad I found that old post with Linda Ronstadt. I remember her Stone Ponies.
