I started to learn this a couple of years ago, and thought I would give it another go, phrasing probably out and wrong notes and all but, this is from memory. No more for a while now.

Emily Jim Katie, thanks for taking the time to have a watch, .
Emily, I think sometimes I am getting to hung up on vibrato, you know what I mean, forgetting that the whole thing is supposed to be fun, it does give a different dimension to sound though, but has take such a long time to get anywhere with it. Progress with violin is painfully slow. But I know it's the same for everyone, unless of course you are 4 years old;)
Katie, glad you liked the vibrato, had you in mind when I posted this vid, you seemed frustrated with vibrato, it has taken me two years to get to where I am with it, and will take at least another two or three to get any good at it going by my rate of progress. Just trying to say it's very slow. You may get it faster though depends how you go about it and how determined you are.
Jim everything is a challenge for me ;), like I said to Greg I am trying.
For me the fiddle makes every other instruments I have seem like children's toys. I am constantly wondering how good I should be after the many, many hours weeks months and years I have put in and wonder is it worth it.

100% definitely worth it Stringy !! Several of us watched your Ava Maria in my house and we all said how good it was!! As for vibrato it’s really progressing . When I joined the forum you had just posted Annie’s Song with vibrato and that was around Dec 2020 it’s really come on I can tell. I get that it’s a long process and lots of conflicting views. I’m reading Galamian’s book which is an eye opener I’d recommend . Well done on the Ava Maria it’s up there with one of my favourites of yours 😁

Thanks for the support Katie and the comments. Not seen the vivaldi you mention but I will look it up and give it a watch.

Thanks for taking a look Sharon, I love this tune, and there are some amazing renditions of it on you tube, I have messed about with it on and off for a couple of years, after I did this one I have started to play it in B-flat instead, think it gives it a deeper sound, I have also been trying it out all over the fingerboard, in fifth and higher, and for me, neighbour annoying screechy high positions.
My next thing is to record it on bouzouki mandolin guitar and violin, or at least try, with my 8 track, but I am not great at getting things together on it.

Thanks for taking a look and for the kind comment Thomas. Even if you are bending the truth, lol, still nice to hear.
I wish I was your age and had started many years ago, I know the faults I have which are many but very hard to correct now, but at least my ears have improved to the point were I can hear how bad it sounds, which is a good thing
I don't comment a lot on your own vids , mainly because you don't really need comments, you are probably the best player on here already (barring fiddlerman) and if you don't end up in a good orchestra, at the very least, I will be amazed.
I wish you only the best and truly hope you get the recognition you deserve as I believe you have real talent, which sits well with the many, many, many hours of practice.
