i have trouble using my pinky too it is way to short. hope i can play like that eventually!
Mine are too short, too! Fiddlerman said move your elbow to under the violin, I'm not sure if I did that, but my thumb was definitely under the neck of the violin when I play somewhere over the rainbow to get the pinkie on note C on G string. I'm trying to post my video when you see it tell me what you think. My pinkies are really short, about 1.69 inches long only.

Hi, Pky! It is not C but D for which you have to use your pinky. Correct me if I am wrong. Have patience. It needs some stretching. Size do not matter. You can do it.

Hiya!!
So it has been awhile but I have not forgot about violin!! Finding bits and pieces of time here and there and at last, I'm ready to show my progress I have fixed my left hand to "curl under the neck" and now I can do my pinky move!!! Bowing is still unstable and sometimes slides on the string.
Here is my new video playing "Concertino in G, op. 11 by KüchlerConcertino in G, op. 11 by Küchler". I only recorded the first 1/3 of the music.
Your comments are welcome. You are my violin instructors, and all your words are jewels for my progress

Wow, you've made big progress! That was so great!
I only have one thing to comment about -- your bow hand: it seems like your fingers on the bow are pretty tensed and pretty spread out. If you take a look at the fiddlerman's video "holding the bow," you could see his fingers are very relaxed and they are closer together.

weeee! thank you everyone for ur comments. I'll need to modify my recording environment so that I can show my head next time
My right hand had been telling me "awkward" for all this time, haha. Now I have read this a few times and practiced, I think I got it. Thank you Fiddlerman!! With the new right hand, the sound seems to be louder and clearer too.
Looking forward to practicing more for my next progress video!!

The only comment I have is that when you are bowing the bow is not staying perpendicular to the strings. Flex the wrist and watch yourself in the mirror.
