I'm sorry to say that I haven't started mixing but it's on my schedule. :) :(
About 34 submissions and 16 members. Thanks for all the submissions.

That's great! Thanks for putting these together, fiddlerman! These group projects and forum parties are really taking the loneliness and frustration out of de-rusting my violin playing.

I feel so lucky that you are still taking the time to make the fiddlerman community such a friendly and triving place :)

Would it be pushing it to ask for a sneak peek at the halloween project, the Adams Family?

I've actually started the project Ripton. Maybe very soon. I also finished mixing the audio for "The house of the rising sun". It really did take a lot of time. I wouldn't be exaggerating if I said that I spent 20 hours on it.
First I had to extract audio from all the videos, then insert them in the master project. I have been using MOTO's Digital Performer for as long as I remember but my latest OS upgrade kept the older version of DP useless to me. I would work for hours and in the end DP would crash without warning. Finally I gave up and started searching for a replacement program. Audacity is free and quite complete but not good enough for getting what I want to get done easily and quick enough when comparing to Pro Tools, Digital Performer and Cubase. However, I don't feel right about investing $400 for Digital Performer again so I experimented and settled for "Logic Pro X"
This software is fast and easy to use and includes fantastic add ons as well for mixing and editing.
In the future I will have to ask for some timing aid in the recording to help line up all the files. A few people counted off but not so many.
Now it's time to work on the video. :) My computer has been working hard to remove audio and convert all files to MPEG4 and I should be able to finish the video soon. I just wish I had more time.

Doesn't surprise me at all - here's a copied comment from another post where I did a duet with Diane -  .......Right - that was for only two players ( yes.... exactly, think about the effort @Fiddlerman puts in to mix like up to 20 vids and 40 audio - ..............so there's no messing about etc - but nonetheless.... that is probably a 24-hour task! Wouldn't surprise me ( Bill pictures Pierre, locked in his studio, cursing at the console and being fed the occasional black-coffee and donut !)

I wasn't far wrong !  LOL   We appreciate the effort boss !

I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh - guntohead.JPG

Some of you have sent me up to 4 videos. I use the audio from all of your videos, I.O.W., all of the parts. Obviously not for those videos where I was sent two parts that are the same and you wanted me to pick my favorite but yes, all the parts for the audio mix.

However, I won't use more than one video in the project mix. Each person who participated with a video will have their video and credits included in the project.
If you have a favorite video, even section in the video, that you want me to use, please let me know ASAP, otherwise I'll just select randomly. Sometimes one feels they look better in one video or picture than they do in another. Grimaces, bad hair day, what ever the reason, just let me know quickly.

Lastly, participants. Here are the participants and as far as I understand credit names that I have and will be using. If you have sent me a video and don't see your name in the list, I didn't receive it. Make sure that you are not left out and that I am using the name that you want me to use on the project. I vaguely remember some members wanting two names but I forgot who. :(

Bill Gunn - Vln 1
Colin Hadfield - Vln 1, 2
CoolPinkOne - Vln 1
Dani_B - Vln 1
KindaScratchy - Vln 1, 6
Fiddle Chick - Vln 1, 3
Fiddlerman - Vln 1, 2, 3, 4
Just4Fun - Vln 1
Kevin Friedemann Lichtenberg - Vln 2
Leanna_violin - Vln 1, 2, 3 and 4
Les Bradley - Cello 3
MadWed - Vln 1, 2
PopFiddle - Vln 3, 4
Steph - Vln 1, 2
Ripton - Vla 3, 5, 6
Violin4me - Vln 1, 2, 3

facepalmfacepalmWe all greatly appreciate all your hard work and dedication. For at least one, I hope I have shown that appreciation in my patronage.

I am really only looking for a simple place to start. Perhaps the master score from which you will create your arrangements, or even the key I should be focused on.

Ps. I hate doing this on data from the mountains on my iOS.

PopFiddle here.  You should have also got Vln 1 & 2 from me.  I should have just wrapped up all four in ZIP or something and did it that way, but I didn't think I had the file size or something.

I may have identified them with my real name.  Maybe that was it.  Just use PopFiddle for me.

I had an idea that it might help you along to mix up the four parts I submitted and sent just one file.  But I have to kind of eyeball the wave forms in Blender to match them up and I wonder if you have something you would rather use for that.

I can't thank you enough for your hard work on this.  It's a lot of fun and lends a lot of quality to my practice.  Really, it's the next best thing to working personally with a tutor.

PopFiddle, I added your parts to the mix. I guess I thought they were repeats. :) Thanks for catching that.

Wow!!!!!!  Thank you, Pierre!  It looks great!  You are so awesome for arranging the music, coordinating us and doing all the hard editing.  Les and I had so much fun on this project.  It is fantastic to see the other forum members playing.  I think everyone looks super.

I am looking forward to the next project!
