“An Imperfect Instrument” - Jennifer Stumm
This is a video about the imperfect instrument. It was a Tedx Talks and it so beautifully and humorously (is that even a word?) discusses this imperfect instrument, followed by a beautiful somg, and ending with why she has chosen this imperfect instrument.

I hope I get this link right. I have watched this video many times and am always in awe of this instrument. I love the way Jennifer Stumm describes it, I love the way she plays it, and in the end (do not stop watching when the song is finished), I love her final words about why she chose the viola. It is about 10 minutes long, but worth it.

An Imperfect Instrument: Jennifer Stumm

I hope you find this as fascinating and lovely as I do.

Enjoy,

Thank you, @JohnG . This was posted 4 years ago! Where have you been? I also posted this on Violaman. I just love the way Jennifer Stumm talks about the cello and plays it. She explains it so well and with such a sense of humor.

You do realize that I've only been on this forum for a year and a half, right? It may seem longer, but I assure you it is not. lol

Thanks for sharing this great video!

I wasn't a member of the forum when you posted this - occupied a bit with too much basic stuff in my 1st 7 months.  I don't know if I had found out about the GOT GP by then, or not!

In my world of 5-string instruments, the violin & viola are too intimately intertwined to jump ship over to the Violaman forum.

I can't remember what I was searching for when I stumbled upon it. I think this is spot on about violas.
