How about over the past few HUNDRED YEARS? 

Or, just a violin in your lifetime? 

This IS an interesting subject & this new video just might arm you with questions for the next time an old violin runs across your path!  

 

The bigger picture - from Edgar Russ!  He describes how luthiers have changed certain aspects of violin tone by region & in history.

 

Maybe closer to home - from Olaf!  He talks about how your violin may settle into the way you play!

 

Tastes change - from Two Set!  Pretty amazing to have these aspects of some famous violinist's style pointed out.  I think this happens with 'fiddling' styles, too!
