To qualify for the next free violin drawing, you must do the following:

  • Tell us HERE why you should be the one to win this fiddle and what you would do with it if you were to win.
  • Make at least 10 sincere posts anywhere on Fiddlermans forum.
  • The qualifying posts must be made on 5 separate days.
  • The posts should be relevant to the discussions.
  • The posts should be longer that just a few words :)
  • You may also create new relevant topics.

More details about the jury and winning date soon to come.

I have been wanting to play the violin for a long as I can remember, however, my mom decided I needed to learn piano firstConfused; 5 years of piano lessons later no violin.

Soon certain issues arose that prevented me from acquiring violin lessons. By the time I had any inclination to learn violin, I was brokeCry, I have rented a vso from a local shop but I couldn't afford to keep it (plus the sound was awful). So here I am violin-less but wanting to learn. If I could win this violin I could finally put my dreams into action.

Thanks for reading-Laugh

I really enjoy playing violin. When I started working, I needed something for a mental break, and eventually I came across the online lessons here! If I were to receive the electric violin, I'd let my little sister use the one I currently have for her middle school and we'd be able to doodle happily together. I'd use the headphones options so as to not subject my family to my horrible playing, and to be able to practice at night without waking people up. (I currently have little time to practice during waking hours.) Perhaps I would also use it for mischief by hiding our wireless computer speakers in random places for violambushes. Moreover, after leveling up my discoordination to normal awkwardness, I would hide in my room and pretend to be a rock star, jamming out secretly in my pajamas, for the violin is quite flashy and deserves some imagination and starpower. That's right, I would play Twinkle Twinkle so hard core.

I never had the chance to learn growing up. It's one of the things I promised myself that I'd be able to do when I got older. Since I lived in a poor rural area with little in the way of musical instruction. I told myself that there would be plenty of opportunities in college and waited it out. Then in college the expense and the amount of time I needed for study made me push it back a little more. While I was "studying" one night I found a really cool J-drama about an orchestra that re-ignited my passion for music. One episode introduces a really cool violin player rocking out on an electric violin, which got me hooked on the sound. When I finally finished school, moved, and got a steady income, I saved for about 8 months and birthday splurged a violin. I've been playing horribly for almost 4 months now. Cool Horribly with BURNING PASSION!

(A/N I highly recommend doing more homework than I did. The people at my local music store are very nice, but at the end of the day they're not the best deal around. My violin was around $200 (lowest price they had) and I had to order it out of a catalog without the shopkeepers even knowing what the quality was like. It's pretty and sounds okay, but from the Cecilio reviews so far, I would have been fine with a pretty colored one to doodle on.)

when i was little my mother always listened to the Celtic women. this is where my love for the violin grew from. i love the noise it makes. every time i hear someone play i just fall into the music. when i was about 10 one of my friends was taking violin lessons and had brought over her instrument. i asked if i could mess with it, and she said yes. 3 hours later i could listen to a piece and duplicate it pretty close. i fell even more in love with it then. 11 years later i still can not read sheet music. i am still friends with that same girl who was taking lessons. i always feel bad because whenever i am at her house ill just start to play, and time will pass, and i don't end up spending anytime with her. i would love to have my own. the job i currently have does not allow for a larger income and all my money every month goes straight to bills, groceries and gas. i hardly ever tend to my wants, because i simply cant afford it. i live paycheck to paycheck. some day i would like to be able to read sheet music, i also aspire to write my own music. i have a dream to actually get somewhere playing the violin. a friend of mine has a band that is doing fairly well. i was told that if i had my own violin i would be able to join.  i also think this violin would be great for me because of the head phone abilities, so i don't drive my boyfriend wild when he wants to hear other things other then my playing, like the TV. once i get started i don't stop. i love this instrument. and i would be so appreciative to be given one.  thanks so much for this opportunityLaugh

i an a 15 year old boy living in england i used to play a violin for two years, but then i stopped because i couldn't afford the lessons i was having at school. but now i am in my last year of school and i need a new good quality violin to play.

at the moment i am using a violin owned by the school, for one, it is two small, and two, its not mine and if i break it i have to pay for it.

if i were to own this violin it would be easier to practice and preform with, using the earphones i would be able to practice at home with out my mother getting her nickers in a twist. also i would be able to preform better at school because of all the effects that you can put on.

eventually i would love to go to the royal acadamy af music in london, its the best school of music in the country and it is very very hard to get into.

this is the reasons i would like to win the electric violin, i would love to buy my own, but i simply can't afford it.  Frown

I should win the Black Metallic Violin because first of all I'm still a beginner and as you know I still can't play the violin that well so every time I practice,  I always end up raping my neighbor's ears with my not so good performance so to end my neighbor's nightmares I would like to have that violin so that instead of letting everyone hear my playing I could use a  headset. And as we all know all of the violinists need its own Electric Violin for live performances to avoid feedback except in Orchestra concerts. And because you know that I'm always recording my progress through mic that's why I can't produce a quality sound and the reverb effect could help me. But if there's anyone more deserving than me like those who doesn't have an Electric violin but wants to play genres who uses lots of effects I would be happy for them to win the violin. Thank you for letting me share my reason. Good luck to all of us!

I would really like to win the Black Metallic Electric Violin. I really want the electric violin because I started violin when I was in Kindergarden 5 years old and i'm eleven years old. I've been wanting to play the electric violin since kindergarden till now. I'm level 5 and I would really want to join the jazz team for middle school, and also want to be the first electric violin in the middle school.I also would like to show the school I could play electric violin in the talent show.SmileSo this is why I would like to win this electric violin. Thanks for your time reading.Laugh

It is hard to convince anyone why i should win this violin. Especially because I read others posts and feel almost sad that I would be taking way their dream of owning this violin. I relate with many of the posts and I too am in a predicament. I have a deep passion for the violin that has been going on for years. I live in Arizona along the Mexico border. I am an hour away from the city and there are no violin teachers near me. I cannot at this time drive all the way to the city for lessons. I rely on this GREAT website (and other sites) to guide and teach me. I do not feel deprived, knowing that God will provide all things in His time. I am borrowing a friends old violin at this time until I get one of my own. I live in a religious order and I am a full time volunteer and I certainly do not have the money to buy a violin!` I have full faith, once again, that God will provide for me when He feels I should own my own violin. I live with other aspiring musicians and would naturally share my violin with them.

Thanks so much for your great wesbite, your offers of free violins and your great smile!

Love and Light,

I will not be making this a competition of who deserves to win a violin the most. If that were the case the winner would be a great writer rather than the most deserving.
I want to put all the deserving winners in a hat and let faith decide the winner. I will probably be picking the top 10 or 20 deserving winners. I love what all of you are writing and wish that I could give a violin to each and every one of you :-)

My name is Jaden, I am 13 years old and have wanted a violin for about three years.  I started saving my allowance to buy one but have a long way to go.  I love music and especially enjoy playing in our church worship band.  I play both electric and acoustic guitar and taught myself how to play piano and ukelele.  I have a lot of reason why I would like to get the violin...

My family runs a non-profit outreach/ministry for at-risk youth.  Everything we do is for free and my family raises our own support to operate the outreach.  My parents work with kids that come from broken homes, foster care and the juvenile system.  The message they share is called "You are loved."  I love what my family does and am glad we are helping lots of kids and their families.  However, because we do this, we do not have extra money to buy instruments.  I used to get allownace every month but have not since Christmas because we need to raise more support for the ministry.

My dad used to lead worship and sing until he started the outreach.  He inspires me to play music as well as my two older brothers.  We have five kids in our family.  It would mean a lot to me if I won this because I know I would work hard to learn the violin.

If I can ever get a violin, I would like to play in our church worship band because I really like what this intrument adds to worship.

Thank you for considering me.

Jaden, I SO relate with your story! I have been apart of a non-profit community since I was born. My parents are the founders. It is amazing to be apart of a great cause and of course it DOES come with its sacrifices. I am very happy for you and you seem like a great kid! I hope that you win this violin and in fact I will pray for it! Peace Be Upon You Jaden Cool

First of all, I would like to say that there are many people in this world that have means to help you all with your desires and wishes. There are plenty of violins out there to go around :-)
All of your posts will remain here permanently and one never knows, maybe some generous and well off readers will be motivated to help out as well.

Secondly, it seems like you SanskritA and Jaden Moody have a lot in common. Feel free to contact each other through the PM function and share ideas and thoughts if you like.

Lastly, thanks to everyone for sharing.

This might be a chance to require that everyone who enters must include LOCATION in their profile.  (What's so scary about location that most do not list it unless, perhaps, INTERPOL is looking for you : )   ??????

When you come to a fork in the road, take it.

Hi, friends. I will not post here why I think that I deserve the prize, because after reading all posts, it is true that all of us deserve it, for one or another reason, being the main one the fact that all of us want to be better persons, and bring happiness to our life and the life of the one surrounding us, through music. In my specific case, I´m a 52 y.o. man, living in Perú. Some 3 years ago, after a whole and (I thought) happy life, I found faith in God and found the real happiness of life. And I decided to praise Him, not only through prayers but through music, but I can not sing, I´m very bad at it, and never learned to play an instrument. Now, I knew a music teacher who is eager to tech me the basics to play in the church, but I have no instrument. The electric violin price is US$270 in my country, too far from my budget. You also ask us what would we do with it. I´ll be sincere, I would play in church with the psalmists and I would play tango, blues and rock for myself and family. Afterwards, I would try to develop a website to help people know this instrument, but in Spanish, my mother tongue(I´m argentinian). I know it will take some years to obtain a decent performance, but I´m ready, I want to do it, because you know, we adult people have seen many things and we have not too many years to leave our descendents good examples of behaviour. I´ll try to leave my children the faith in God and love for music. Thanks, Pierre, you´re doing an outstanding work here.  And posting friends, may God bless you all. José

I want to make you the location police Oliver :-) I will be happy to see more and more members sharing. I could require it on the profile registration if you all feel that it is important. Anyone see any negatives to this?

I don´t see the location is too much important.

Anyway, the location for all of us is planet Earth, Music country, Violin state, Fiddlerman county, Forum street.Smile
