FIDDLE HELL always has great workshops for cellists (virtual in April & live November) - but, just for the heck of it, looked to see what other Festivals were available for cellists here in the US.
I found quite a few restricted (submit a resume!?) 'festivals' for Classical players, but ONLY ONE that seemed more casual... and NO Classical music!
It's the "New Directions Cello Festival"! It's held this year in Northampton, Massachusetts - June 23rd-25th. I believe the location changes every year.
Their site says you can join in person or virtually!
...still think Fiddle Hell is the most casual/welcoming Festival for anyone playing a string instrument, regardless the level of proficiency - but, if you are into improv & having fun playing cello, this could be a EXCELLENT opportunity!
