2 Excited Smileys Smiley

Okay, I'm instigating again!

"Fiddlershop Academy ...coming soon."

Am I not supposed to ask about this?

It's been about a month since I first got wind of this in a Fiddlershop email.

Hate to admit I probably should have signed up, but figured by now the whole forum would be buzzing with information or at least interest by now... not!

I never received any email like that. What was it?

Just Looking Around Smiley@Mouse -

I think the 1st I noticed was the one with the Sandalwood bows, about a month ago?

Fiddlerman did a little tutorial, I think - and there was a link, said if you wanted to learn more...  Nothing about it in the actual email.

Link popped up "Fiddershop Academy coming soon" - you could give name, email for early access.  I should have done it - just never know when I will feel good enough to play an hour or so (I try for 2hrs a day, total).

Is it supposed to be a secret?  This is killing me (lol).

 Well, I don’t think it would be a secret if they want people to join. 😁

It sounds like they have been super busy at the shop, so it may be behind schedule if they are doing it?

Interesting.

I didn't see any email, either.  Found this online--don't think it's all there yet, but there's a website for it:

https://academy.fiddlershop.com/

There's stuff listed under Courses, etc.,

@Mouse - Thanx!

@SharonC  -

GREAT!  You hit the Jackpot!

Looks like the Academy has already started - where did you find it?

Maybe I just didn't look well enough at the Fiddlershop - duh, I didn't even think about just doing a search... not like me!

So nobody got the email last month advertising the Sandalwood bows?

Anyway, it looks pretty GREAT for beginners - curious to see how much more it develops.

It's in the works. It feels weird to post it too early with little content.

Thanks, @ELCBK. I looked at it and it looks like a great way to learn violin. We already know the their "stuff" and are great at explaining and demonstrating. This should be a really good course and option for learning.

I'd do it if I could.

@Fiddlerman -

...just wanted to mention I noticed the Academy site was 'undergoing scheduled maintenance' WAY before Christmas & still now.

Is it being re-developed, or kaput?  😳

Seemed like a GREAT idea... was hoping you had folks lined up seeking some one-on-one help!

You wouldn't believe how difficult it can be for company's such as ours to do stuff like this. After we started sharing this information we had a company sue us for Web Accessibility Compliance. This is so frustrating but it cost us a lot of money and our attorney said that we had no choice unless we wanted to defend ourselves in court which is even more costly with no guarantees of winning.

Some of you might have noticed an Accessibility icon on Fiddlershop on the bottom left corner. It's all nonsense and created for profit, but we have very little choice in the solution. It costs us to run that app as well as the lawsuit that we had to settle. I'm all for offering Accessibility to all people with all disabilities but there must be reason to all these requirements. We should have been informed way prior to a lawsuit that no one knew about.

@Fiddlerman -

Really sorry to hear of these problems!

Hoped folks in our Government would've learned something by now... when they set out to regulate changes meant to protect consumers - you'd think someone would be wise enough to find solutions that don't cripple Small Business & clog up our Judicial system in the process. 😞

In these particular cases 100%. Not beneficial to penalize companies that put out information for free. Obviously, we probably would have won the case but it's not worth the headaches and cost of litigation. I've been through it before and it's not nice. Lot's of sleepless nights.
