This weekend the Old Time Fiddlers Association of California is holding their annual Oroville event. Ages 4 to 90 are competing. Lots of good food and even though it's supposed to rain it should be a great event, all inside at the municipal auditorium, right downtown.

While attending the Old Time Fiddlers' Contest on Fri evening, I picked up a flyer presented by a local music shop for an upcoming "FIDDLERS' CAMP". They'll have Guitar, Bass, Fiddle, Banjo, Manodolin, & Dobro training

Sessions offer: Learning to jam with others. Recording your own CD in a recording studio. T-Shirt and performance at end of camp.

STRINGS PERFORMANCE:
DATE: Friday May 18, 2012
LOCATION: Old State Theater Bldg., downtown Oroville
TIME: 6 pm to 9 pm ?
PRICE: Free
SCHEDULE: String section performance from local talent, schools, and individuals
Kicking off the summer season with a Friday evening performance of strings only. On the list are group performances from local high schools, music school performances by students of the strings.
Cellos, Violins, Guitars, Harps, and both group and individual performances.
