Hey @John Thornton ... Just a reminder of forum rule #6:

Spam, mystery links and links to competing websites: No one likes a site full of spam and people are wary of following unidentified links. Also, Fiddlerman operates a related e-commerce site called Fiddlershop.com. If you are posting an external link, please explain what you are linking to and why. Include your own personal thoughts about the site, page, video, etc. If you are in business selling a violin-related product, please contact Fiddlerman before posting information promoting your product.

You didn't provide any explanation of why you were posting that link and it appears to be a site selling violins and related products, which might be in competition with Pierre's e-commerce site, http://www.fiddlershop.com.

Did you check with Pierre before posting?

$999,999.99,, for a violin.roflWhat's the $.99 cents for ?

I don't think we have to worry about a competing website here, Di, or trying to put Pierre out of business. I'd have to guess their prices are %100 out of any forum members price category. (just guessing though)

I know I wouldn't spend that kinda $$ on a violin even if I could afford it and knew how to play one. laugh

If you buy a violin for a million dollars or more, it puts you in a new tax bracket.  The IRS comes round, checking out everything you own (because they're sure you must have some money they haven't gotten their fingers on yet), the DEA comes around to check if you're dealing drugs... just a major hassle all the way around.

I look forward to seeing the pictures of your fine instruments if you get the chance. I for one am searching for a great fiddle. Thanks for posting, Fiddlerman''

Good to know. Sorry...didn't mean to be the Rules Police but a link with no explanation or commentary looked like spam to me.

Nice instruments and it's cool that you offer free shipping, though anyone who actually cares about free shipping probably can't afford a million dollar violin.

LOL @John Thornton - I suspect we were just being "protective" of our Maestro Pierre - we've had a few spam posts for weird stuff like kites and strange curiosity-value instrument tuners !   We truly appreciate his efforts in keeping this a free-to-access forum, and as I say, just being "protective" !  drummerexactly

I'll give John a warning and if he posts anything like that again, he's off the forum.

No problem John,
I have a hard time keeping up with past members here. I don't remember writing the message that you posted. When was that done?

Hi Pierre,

It was a little after I signed onto your forum. I then posted images of that magnificent 1741 Guarneri del Gesu, which I discovered elsewhere online.

OK, I found it. That was in 2011 before the forum was popular and before Fiddlershop. :)
So you are one of the first members. My memory is really good, but very short. ;)
