Hello...

This topic might fizzle and burn.   Since I don't quiet know how to get it going. facepalm  Perhaps it isn't that interesting either.   :)

I thought it cool recently to see Johnrafreek's video of "Heart confusing."  I am unfamiliar with the music and thought it great to watch.

When I started to think about the violin and wanting to play, I had a very narrow version/vision of how I thought violin was usually played. Orchestra, Solo Violinist, and school recitals. facepalm  Since joining the forum, I have been exposed to all kinds of varieties of music from the violin/fiddle.   Even the whole world of fiddle tunes are just now starting to open up for me.

I love to see how violin is played around the world.  I  am eager to see more.  I thought we could post videos, clips or photos.  Kind of like an International clip board of violin genres and styles??

I'd love to see local festivals, orchestras, and other videos.   I know I can go to YOUTUBE and look, but I thought it would be fun to share.  (or the topic can sink into oblivion too.. ha ha)

cheersthumbs-up

That is a cool idea Toni really

Excellent examples! I love the cajun fiddlers. The tops of their fiddles seemed to be very arched as in Stainer violins but maybe it was the lighting making them look like that. I loved the old man's enthusiasm. :)

Great idea , Toni ...

Gee , ya mean ya don't have to have great posture and be stiff as a board to play a violin ....who woulda' thunk it ? And playin' off yer chest and or arm ? That can't really work , can it ?...and who woulda' thought ya could dance and play at the same time ?

Great vids there folks .....violin-1267Have fun ...Be happy
