Just in case anyone wants to learn this and hasn't already found a resource for it. I may find some time in the future to jot down the notes, but I have a feeling there are plenty available.

Why the pause button? Is it tiresome? Too long? It's good to know for making better videos in the future.

I'll try to jot down the notes. I wanted to write "He's a Pirate" first.

Thanks

No, video is fine just the way I like . Information and illustration.

I use that pause button so I can digest the information.

I have to take small bites if you know what I mean.  LOL  violin-student

These words are unacceptable for you Naska.
Repeat after me, "I can, I know I can because I am great"

Say this 100 times and then you can try the "Orange Blossom Special"

It's one of those tunes that sound much harder than it is.

I start down bow LB

The trick is to cross as little as possible. Find the angle that you barely have to move to hit the other two strings. Play real close to the frog but not so much that you get a bad sound. Not much pressure necessary at the frog either.

Also, start real slow, work up the speed over a period of time and have patience. It will come.

Maybe in about 5 years I will be ready for this. I have been working on SwallowTail jig, just because I like it, but it is way out of my league right now as well. Wife keeps telling me to practice the basics, but I am having too much fun with songs I know.

This is super common. Having too much fun doing the stuff that is FUN dancing

Imagine how much better you would do the fun stuff if you spent time on the boring basics and technique.

I'm great at imitating the wife because I'm one of those who rather do the fun stuff without all the work and prep. smile

What are your thoughts on the bowing portion of the second part? I can play the scales but doesn't seem to sound quite right. i think I am slurring where I shouldn't.
